Gore Magala Power Clash (?)

I feel like I'm losing my mind. I swear that he used to have a power clash. My friends and I all remember me talking about getting it, but none of us have a clip, and I can't find any footage of it ever existing. I feel like I'm going insane over this. Has anyone else ever powerclashed this beast, or am I having a Bearstein bears moment?

Newer question: Has anyone using SnS gotten one in the past week or two?

I just hunted him a few times for the weapon. Power Clashed 2 of the 3 times I hunted him with GS.

Glad to know it exists, then. Less so that it just refuses to give it to SnS, it seems. I cannot get one no matter the perfect guards.

Spamming RT should work at the moments, considering the input delay.

But Power Clashes with Gore Magala are nothing rare.

I am obsessed with perfect guards, which is why I'm really confused that I cannot get them. I've hunted at least 50 gores recently and hyperfixate on perfect guarding every physical attack from him. I can't get them to proc at all.

Input delay is crazy bad, though.

Well, you could try a mod to address that delay, if you want. I personally have no issues with it - once you train it. It also depends whether you play with M&K or controller.

The delay is bad, but it's not relevant. I'm getting perfect guards. Just did another where I had 9 in a row on physical hits and still nothing. His backhand, perfect guard. His delayed upper cut, perfect guarded. His double down smash, perfect guarded. Hell, I'm doing the same to his blasts. It's just not happening.

I'm getting the parries. I'm not getting the clash. I'm very confused by why it's not happening.

I just spent 20 full minutes perfect guarding Gore with the GS. Not a single clash.

Maybe he is just being a troll and not using the power clash attack?
It will only trigger off 1 specific attack he does.
Maybe you find that one hard to perfect guard so you just dodge it or something?

I figured that was the case, but I'm not exaggerating. I didn't dodge, I didn't move. I perfect guarded every attack he threw at me. I thought it may have been the double handed down smash since I rarely see that one, but got two perfect guards on it in my last hunt. It's nuts I'm not seeing the attack that procs it.

Arkveld's is impossible to miss, so it's a guaranteed clash every single time. Gore refuses to give me such satisfaction. I just wish i knew which attack from Gore builds meter.

Your own testing proves my point to be correct. Power clashes are bound to perfect blocks, not specific monster attacks.

I'm fully inclined to believe you. It's just problematic because myself and another have seemingly very skewed but matching retroactive memory.

A decent rule-of-thumb is if it takes more than two to five perfect blocks without giving a clash that monster most likely doesn't have one
