What ultimately bugs me about the TU trailer

Despite being promoted as a "free" content update, half the video was just talking about paid DLC, you'd think they would've known it would look bad to brazenly promote cosmetic dlc that you need to pay for, in a video about new content players are getting for free.

I get the feeling investors firmly have their foot in the door deciding how the game is supported, and most of the updates will indeed be promoting paid cosmetics, while the free content will be a single, drip fed monster, a scant seasonal event and obligatory missing content that should've been there at launch.

It rubs me the wrong way, even now after its been a while since its been out. I was optimistic for a while, but i dunno now. Like, paid Seikret armor/saddle, even though we barely have any we can earn in the game, only like 4? World had a lot of cosmetics but also a lot you can earn in game, you basically just paid if u really liked something and enjoyed the game that much. This time around though its the jangling keys hoping you'll impulse buy it like the whales they want to have.

I still like the game, but i feel like if the game is going to be so light every update and most focus is on cosmetic dlc, i dunno if i can support it anymore. It's not for gamers, its content geared towards satisfying investors. I hardly count arch tempered Rey Dau and a hr zoh shia because they were intended for base game, a remix but still base game content tbh. I wouldn't be such a bummer about this if the base game had more side content.

Shouldn't be surprised when pretty much all of the "free" stuffs are expected day 1 content by now. They don't even have COVID as an excuse anymore for these pre-baked content.

Exaggeration massively... Video is 13:15 long. DLC cosmetics didn't start getting talked about until 8:45. They stopped talking about DLC at 10:08 seconds and went right into Event Quests at that period. So they had 1min 58 seconds talking about DLC out of a 13min 15sec video. That means they talked about Non-Money related content for 11min 17sec.

How about you stop losing your absolute **** over 2min of paid DLC content on a 13min video? Cause last I checked, that is only 1/6th of the videos run time.

It a slap in the face to the fans who bought this sloppy unfinished mess day one. It's not right, but it is modern Capcom and a huge chunk of the modern gaming industry.

The only way to change it is by not buying this garbage. Especially day one or anywhere near launch.

Something I've said to friends for a bit now I that I don't think mh can survive being a AAA game given Capcoms history with it's titles (Megaman is dead in the water, and it took a decade for Resident Evil to return to a functional state, and lets not get started on the way they've treated Street Fighter.) I very much feel like we're going to be having one of the last good monster hunter games entirely because of how desperately greedy capcom is as a company.

I have a lot of faith in the devs that they'll try to push back against this as much as possible, considering that they managed to get rid of paid layered weapons after backlash, but I do agree that it's very concerning

you know the best thing about playing on PC? You can mod it all in. You dont have to spend a cent. The actual content that matters is 100% free they have never to my knowledge made and paid monster or armour set thats not cosmetic.

I dunno i think they're being strangled in semiconductor but gamewise i'm optimistic with all the recent releases and stuff from there.

Just like Wilds... cause its all just deluxe/prem delux content uip to pack #2 that comesd in summer. Rest is outside of prem deluxe and I am fine with that. :>\

It's not crying to point of the insane amount of DLC available for World. Wilds is going to get the same and probably more. I'm sure a big reason they introduced the seikret was to milk the fans of more money for skins.
