It's more effective to opt for an element when crafting your Artian Bow, and slot in a Paracoat Jewel 3 if you want access to paralysis (or any other status). That being said, paralysis is very effective at preventing you from replenishing your stamina, since you no longer get opportunities to dodge. If it triggers when you are low on stamina for example, it's mostly wasted.
Ideally you want to focus strike a wound to create an opening when your stamina is full, and allow it to attack when your stamina is low. Status coatings aren't going to help you achieve that reliably, unless you are a pro at managing thresholds.
