10 Odogaron Gems

Was Farming Odogaron to get its armor set. The first 2 gems were garanteed because investigation rewards, but the other 8 were not.

I just needed Claw+ for the armor, man.

For the record, i melded 3 of them because, currently, i don't know if i need that many.

gems in general feel a lot easier to get in this game, the other day i had multiple uth duna quests where i got 2 gems from carving. i dunno if their exact odds are listed anywhere but it feels higher than it used to be. could also just be getting really lucky i guess lol.

for gems, it's usually 3% on most Monster Hunter games, with subspecies having a 1% drop rate instead, and the rare species having a higher drop. Still, it feels way too lucky.
That, or Desire Sensor strikes where you least expect it.

Can't you rest and changing the environment to re-roll what monsters are about in the locale? Find one with a guaranteed gem reward, 3 investigations + field survey and some lucky carves and should be golden. I have a backlog of saved investigations that give every gem in case I'll need them for the next gear level; or just want easy smelting materials.

There's the thing: i was looking for Odogaron Claw+, not the Gem. I was getting a lot of gems anyways.
