Having the palicos talk like humans was a stupid and terrible idea
It's cringy and wrong. Keep the Saturday morning cartoon cats in Stories, not the mainline series. I don't want a cartoon character following me for the whole game, throwing up his wacky ideas filled with animated hilarity and hijinks. Wilds isn't NEARLY anime enough for that.

I was mad about it when I played the demo, I'm still mad about it in the full game after realizing that, no, I'm not getting used to it. And to make matters worse, they only put like 3 purrs in the game, exact same ones that were in World, if you turn their voices off.

So the result is I have a cartoon caricature, a demon child, and a cat following me around while I'm trying to take down what they tell me are dangerous monsters. How am I supposed to take anything seriously?

There is a setting to get rid of it, so I am thankful.

This is a non issue. You can change their voice back to the classic one in the settings.
But did you know that arkveld is literally me ? - Nata, 2025 Wilds

The thing is, there's very few sounds since they never updated them, they just copied them over. So even though the cat is talking more often, you hear the same "mrow" over and over again (which is less grating than the voice, but still).

but you wouldn't complain when it comes to rove. why the double standard?

I like it very much.

I'm surprised it's bothering you this much, I never even noticed them following me
So glad there's a setting to turn it off. Now, if only HomHun language was still an option :MHRISE_anger:

Your cool dragging along a whiny emo wannabe pre-teen, but you have a problem with the cat? Ill take meow-speak over Nata's whining and pity partying for the entire story line any day.

I only keep them on for the cutscenes. Anything else, its off.

What the ♥♥♥♥ is this nonsense? If you don't like it remove it in the settings.

This may come as a shock to you, but before World, MH was a pretty whimsical series. It was never something that took itself serious, even if these were ecosystem destroying catastrophes we are hunting.

Why would you complain, in the vast emptiness that is existence, there is just one thing that makes the world complete. The persistent chance of death around every corner. Do we embrace it, or do we run from it?

i am glad there is a voice telling me that the monster is catchable, because i am almost blind. :D
