Grand Hub means rip "seamless world"?
I mean it was already rip because they didn't even do anything with it besides the main story, but now there's def no reason to.

Just hang in the hub and go on quests like previous games.

Good.
It was never a seamless world anyway. Try actually navigating from one location through to all the rest.

Right? I was shocked to see an actual stop between the Iceshard Cliffs and Wyveria. If this hub does link anywhere, it'll be from the arena to the hub, so likely another actual loading screen and not a seamless transition.
the world was never seamless, you just happen to have a big map for different regions with different camp locations you can relocate yourself at any given time.

And hands down: Alma being allowed to make decisions if a monster is allowed to get hunted, or not, is just BS writing.

Having some HUB, getting told that there is a monster at X location which is problematic? Yeah, that's how a Hunter should be used.

The fŭcking guild apparently works by having anthropologists who care more about human cultures than the ecosystem call the shots.
Alma has us murder monsters for no greater reason than they got too close to the child she willingly brought into the area. She is incompetent.

not only that, it seems like the monsters are totally fine and pose no danger at all till we, the hunter, come too close to it.

"Yeah, the guild, aka me alone who has no way to contact the guild, allows you to murder that aggressive monster" - after attacking it multiply times making you the reason why it's aggressive in the first place.

This is what literally happens all the time in real life. Humans keep building cities and houses in habitats where wildlife is located. Wildlife is in the area and might attack cause you're dumb ass is literally in it's home. We kill animal cause aggressive.

"It happens in real life" isn't exactly a shining endorsement. The real world is a disorganised sh!thole of institutional half-arsedness.
I always took Alma's permission as saying we're going to be properly compensated for hunting the monster. Like we get guild assistance for a properly hunted monster (i.e the drops after a quest being the dismantling team, being paid zenny for a guild ordered/supported hunt) and the proper paperwork is being done for all that.

Outside of a 'lore' reason, it's a fancy way of letting the game give you all/more of the rewards from hunting a monster, unlike in World where when you kill a monster on expedition you just get carves and maybe an extra drop once you finish. Here in Wilds, you get the fancy mission start fanfare whenever you make a conscious decision to fight a monster.

I just assume the Guild wants proper paperwork on what you're out there making hats out of. Though I would have loved a story arc of Guild Knights showing up to investigate the goings on.
I do not understand, the Hub is at the top of Suja I thought? Wouldn't it be connected?

The base camps for each region are connected, but the transition between them, like the one between the Wastes and Forest requires a loading screen.
The open world was never seamless because you get a stupid quest popup when you start a hunt in the OPEN WORLD and when you finish it IN THE OPEN WORLD.

I HATE this feature. It ruins any reason to mindlessly hunt spam in a single expo.

Thats not true. Its a loading hallway, but you can go between maps on foot without reloading.

Good. The "seamless map" did nothing but cause problems.
