Are all Monster HUnter games set in the same world?
If so, how do their narratives connect? Are all of them sequels to one another, or are some of them prequels? Are events in previous MH games referenced in later installments?

Yes they are. For example, Gemma and Fabius were both in MH4.

It is said all are connected, with the exception of Stories. But I am not so sure anymore.

Well, you have Gemma who was a kid in another game.

It is loosely connected with time gap and the whole ancient Wyverians and Elder Dragons war.

Not really a time gap.

They take place in the same post-apocalyptic world. There's some connections here and there like visiting towns and locales from older games and the occassional reference here or there.

As someone else said, Gemma and Fabius are from 4.

Not sure about the stories games.

There are world maps online but I don't think they're 'official'.

I mean, you literally have Gemma, who is obviously at the very least 10 years older than before at least.

Till capcom outright confirms this or gemms outright says she is lil miss forge this ia theory. Its a cool theory but still a theory.

The games are set in the same world the same way like zelda games are all set in hyrule, its very VERY loose.
I suspect if they were to ever try and pin down a set timeline it would be just as messy as zelda timeline lol.
they all take place in one extremely busy week

See. No time gap.

The games take place in the same world, except for the stories games,
At most the games have callbacks and some character appear. (i.e The excitable A-Lister and the Hell Hunters)

10 years is a time gap by definition.

Time gap does not have to be in hundreds of years.

Should be on theory, but there's nothing preventing capcom from coming up and saying: "Nah, game X and Y are on a different universe" or just retcon the whole thing.

I for one am not so sure about that. Older games had major events that have no way of not being known world wide that never got acknowledged. Also, tech wise the first games are way too diferent from modern iterations.

Only true connection we got till now is 4 and wilds and only for some throwbacks, like Fabius being the Ace Lancer and other Ace Members called by name. And Generations Ultimate, but that was basically a fanservice game.

The mainline games happen on the same world, with an advancing society.
Freedom Unite had some in-game story books talking about some legends (and tutorials). The other games tends to reference the regions from the previous gens as well (4u has some references to Tri and Dundorma, which is where solo High Rank and multiplayer G-Rank start, was the multiplayer hub from Dos, and also the Citadel map from FU).

I mean... She's wearing the Caravaneer's jacket, she has a Kut-Ku doll in the same style as those Sophia made, she references a hunter you remind her of (loosest connection), she says people called her "Lil" or "Lil Miss", and she uses her signature Hammer in a cutscene.

Do you really need Capcom to say explicitly: "yes, she's Lil Miss Forge" at this point?

More or less it has to be written some where by capcom. Same goes for Excited A Lister. Without the General calling his actual name, we'll always refer to him as Excited A Lister. For all we know, Gemma could be Lil Miss Forge's older sister, mother, aunt, grandma, blood relative, clone.
