Long startup times?
Has anyone else been having issues with long startup times? For maybe like the first week of playing it was quick, then it just started getting slower. Think the longest has been almost 2-3 minutes to start up

The game is installed on an NVME SSD, and it's not redoing the shaders. It just sits at a black window until it loads, sometimes going unresponsive.

System:
Ryzen 7 5700x
32 GB ram
RTX 4070
1 TB NVME SSD

Trying to get some ideas before trying to reinstall.

Your not alone Kupo friend. When i click Play button, it takes like 40 seconds when the screen decides to start. NVMESSD on my pc aswell.Every other loading works really fast, just the initial black screen.

I deleted the shaders and it started up way faster. But after closing out of the game and restarting, it was faster but not as fast as it was before the shaders re-ran
I think my game has been starting like this since beta. First it starts in smaller windowed mode with black screen, not responding. After maybe 30 seconds it snaps out of it, and goes full screen then loads. Sometimes it'll decide to open on my second monitor instead for some reason. It's not a big deal, but it's not what I'd call smooth.

Most likely connection issue.
Check if the issue persists when launching Steam in offline mode.

Reshaders and some other mods are causing this.

That too. But threadstarter did not mention any mods. If they use them, then they should know as it is simply logical.

Didn't think about it at the time I posted. I have 3 installed.
1. REFramework
2. DirectStorage 1.2.2 Upgrade to 1.2.3 - IO Stutter Fix
3. NVIDIA Streamline update for DLSS 4 FG 310.2.1

Though, I am pretty sure that my long load times started before I started using these performance mods, and at that the Direct storage one was only installed after I posted.
Delete your shader cache and rebuild it, that fixed the long startup times for me.

use mods from nexus mods- skip intro.

It seems to be taking a long time to check shader.cache2.
The size of this file gradually increases from 400 MB and load times increase accordingly.
Is there any solution other than periodically deleting shader.cache2.

Not that I know of.
What I can tell is that people who do not use mods are experiencing such issue much rarer.
