I deleted the shaders and it started up way faster. But after closing out of the game and restarting, it was faster but not as fast as it was before the shaders re-ran
Most likely connection issue.
Check if the issue persists when launching Steam in offline mode.
That too. But threadstarter did not mention any mods. If they use them, then they should know as it is simply logical.
Didn't think about it at the time I posted. I have 3 installed.
1. REFramework
2. DirectStorage 1.2.2 Upgrade to 1.2.3 - IO Stutter Fix
3. NVIDIA Streamline update for DLSS 4 FG 310.2.1
Though, I am pretty sure that my long load times started before I started using these performance mods, and at that the Direct storage one was only installed after I posted.
The size of this file gradually increases from 400 MB and load times increase accordingly.
Is there any solution other than periodically deleting shader.cache2.
Not that I know of.
What I can tell is that people who do not use mods are experiencing such issue much rarer.
