A 5 star Rey already has the potential to cart the entire group.
People are just used to fight the lesser versions.
The new harder monsters are probably just gonna be more hp more dmg and faster.
Maybe if they are feeling very fancy they might mix up the monsters moves to catch people out.
Otherwise the Master Rank DLC should add enough monsters which allow for harder fights in general. I wouldn't expect that many changes in the near future though, given that this game is balanced around the average player and not the tiny minority of veterans.
Either this or frenzied temper. More dangerous but even less HP( tho that prob wont be popular)
