Mouse buttons switching, Help please.
As I was playing yesterday my mouse button for focus mode decided to change to 2 on the keyboard. I checked the settings in-game and when I tried to reassign it it came up as keyboard 2 when pressing the extra mouse button. I then checked drivers which are all up to date. restarted the game and the issue was still there. The only way I could fix it was to reinstall the game, fine but this takes 2 hours >.<
I played the rest of the day with no issues, however this morning upon starting the game the issue has returned only this time the button has switched to button 4 on the keyboard.
The mouse is a wireless corsair something or other, I don't remember the model it is fairly old maybe 4 years?
Has anyone got any idea on how to stop this happening as I really don't want to have to keep reinstalling the game, I don't always have 2 hours to sit and wait for it obviously. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Is this gaming mouse? You should check your gaming mouse software and driver from the manufacture website first so that it is can properly register the correct input button of your extra key button when you're gaming mode. Clean install the software is highly advise if it is get too old so that there is no driver conflict or any obsolete or orphan left behind.

There is no need to reinstall the game at all.

Add edit : if you also have gaming keyboard. Do it, you better do it. Too.

Thank you for replying.
It is a gaming mouse, I have done what you suggested yesterday and it still happened this morning :(
Could it be the charging cable was plugged into my xbox? I use keyboard and mouse for console gaming too so I'd left it in there. If this continues I'll have to get a new mouse >.<

Could be something about your mouse profile, check the current setup button in your gaming mouse software. On board memory should not be use. Create a separate individual profile for each specific game on launch is more recommended.

Ok, I have done that. Thank you for all your help, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again lol. If it does I'll just have to buy a new mouse, as I said this one is getting old now.

It should be fix after remap to your desired key with proper game profile. If not, try soft reset your mouse.

Below is a copy from google AI "Corsair gaming mouse is registering the wrong button"

Soft Reset:

Unplug the mouse: (or turn off a wireless mouse).
Hold down the left and right mouse buttons .
Plug the mouse back in: (or turn it on while holding the buttons).
Wait for the mouse's LEDs to begin flashing, then release the buttons .

Hope it helps.

Add edit: Your welcome. ^^
