Anyone figure out the best gathering set?
Something with all the gathering boosts, outdoorsman, immune to hot/cold areas, max intimidator etc.

Leather armor set with geology slotted in.
the high rank chain mail set isn't half bad if you craft the botanist charm and have a few decos to fill in the rest.

Botany is 5 points while geology is only 3, so it is easier to use the leather set.

the botany charm can be fully upgraded to give the entire skill, its the setup i enjoy with all the gathering skills
I remember in World those damn Vespoids would be positioned around gathering nodes so you wanted Paralysis Resist as well but that doesn't seem to really be the case anymore...
I like using Sild Hood Alpha, Melahoa Jacket Alpha, Leather Gloves Alpha, Suja Sash Alpha and Azuz Pants Alpha. Then I use Intimidator Charm for comfort.
This is the gathering set I currently use:
Square Glasses α, 2 1-slot sprinter jewels
Melahoa Jacket α, 1 2-slot maintenance jewel
Leather Gloves α, 1 1-slot Hungerless Jewel
Suja Sash α, 1 2-slot Maintenance Jewel, 2 1-slot Mirewalker jewels
Azuz Pants α, 1 1-slot sprinter jewel, 2 1-slot adapt jewel
Intimidator Charm 3

Skills:
Tool Specialist lv 5 (max)
Botantist lv 4 (max)
Divine Blessing lv 3 (max)
Marathon Runner lv 3 (max)
Intimidator lv 3 (max)
Geologist lv 3 (max)
Hunger Resistance lv 2
Adaptability lv 2 (max)
Aquatic/Oilsilt Mobility lv 2 (max)
Outdoorsman lv 1 (max)
LV 3 Forager's Luck

This was modified from an older loadout that I had. I decided to try to work around the square glasses after those released. The odd one out now are the leather gloves which give a wasted lv 1 to botanist and lv 1 to hunger resistance. I'm trying to find ways to work around that, but this is what I have for now.
Anything with the Ranger skill slotted in. Isn't like any more than that is strictly necessary.
Square Glasses α, Enduring x2
Melahoa Jacket α, Earplugs
Battle Vambraces α, Earplugs
Duna Wildcoil α, Maintenance + Adapt
Azuz Pants α, Maintenance + Specimen + Enduring
Intimidator Charm III

This gives me:
Tool Specialist Lv5
Botanist Lv4
Intimidator Lv3
Item Prolonger Lv3
Geologist Lv3
Earplugs Lv2
Adaptability Lv1
Aquatic/Oilsilt Mobility Lv1
Entomologist Lv1
Outdoorsman Lv1
Imparted Wisdom aka Forager's Luck

best gathering set is the one where you literally never need to gather even a single time in this game because everything is handed to you in quest rewards and auto-resources for free all the time.

^This^

Going on gathering runs to prepare for tougher battles is no longer a thing in this installment.

Resources are practically thrown at you and shoved into your pockets in every aspect of the game.
Nourishing Extract is a pain to gather...

Yea this is this the one thing you'd ever need to "farm" if you're using mega armorskin/demondrug. But a) a lot of people don't because the content is so laughably easy to begin with, and b) even then the "best set" in the context of this thread is literally just whatever you normally wear to kill things and then go do it to G.Doshaguma :\.
