Hitting wounds with heavy bow gun
I seem to be struggling with this. At least half the time it feels like I was aiming at the weak spot, it showed the orange icon, and then it somehow didn't trigger the weak spot when I fired. Am I just missing?

I saw several comments about this weapon being easy to hit the weak spots with but if anything I'm finding it harder.

It's an annoying weapon for wounds imo. because you have to actually aim and hit the spot. which unless it's a slow moving monster, good luck. and if you miss it, there goes your cool down. i just started switching to a different weapon for wounds, i mean HBG is strong in many ways, but hitting wounds is not one of them.

Yea idk its a bit weird. There are times where it looks like the strike hit directly on the wound but it actually didn't. The same thing happens for me with LBG sometimes which is even more weird considering its a slight aoe blast.

Use a mouse and keyboard if you're not. I can't even imagine trying to hit these 360-no-scopes on controller.

I haven't seen any times myself where I thought I hit the mark but missed, but the shot is pretty precise. If the monster moves around a lot (or even just wiggles a little), you can miss a shot showing the orange mark because the bullet has travel time.
since you shoot an actuall projectile and it has a travel time and the monster is moving, its verry likely that your not hitting where you aim
Don't hit wounds with heavy bow gun. Leave them for squad members that will get more out of them, or carry a bow in your sling to smash them all at once when solo.

Even with MKB it's really hard to hit. One of multiple reasons I'm playing bow instead for now.

There is no point even trying.
With HBG wounds are just normal hitzones, as opposed to all the crappy hitzones the monster has the rest of the time... because the devs toughened up the skin of all monsters even more so we're basically useless unless we're hitting wounds.

Do NOT bother using Focus Shot. It is just a waste of time. Keep shooting normally in the general direction of the wounds instead.
