Back then ... everything was just fine...

There was a time ... I do remember them like it was yesterday, that I played Monster Hunter: World with my nVidia GTX 1060 6Gb ... without issues!^^
My review of that game is still nice to read today, but then against that... Monster Hunter: Wilds is out and I ... I don't really think, that I will break ~400hrs of gaming in total, with ~250hrs of Online-Multiplayer-Gaming, by this new title.^^

I know that I played ~250hrs Online, because if I enjoy a Singleplayer-Session, I set Steam into "Offline-Mode" and this way, it's unable to track my time anymore, so I was online only for Multiplayer-Sessions.^^

Oh my ... I wish, I wish things will getting better, because it was awesome back then.
I played every Quest and Sidequest and builded every Armory Set and all Weapons of the Charge Blade.
That's something that didn't changed ... the Charge Blade - oh I really enjoy this weapon-type.^^

What are your thoughts?
Did you played Worlds before?
How much?

Worlds was so good, 300 hours on steam, 100+ on playstation before it was on steam.
this just sounds like world was your first monster hunter. which is fine but you should know that every game is different and if you go into this series expecting the same exact games then you'll hate this series... every single generation they try new things.

This is one of the best games in the series, world is my second least favorite game in the series with GU behind the only one i like less (i like all the games but those two are the worst of the lot to me, sunbreak and tri are my favs).

its hard to judge how much you'll play one of these games before all the TU's are out and the G rank comes so its kind of hard for most people to guess how much time they will spend on it.

I'm glad I was able to test the game first with the old family share system that is now gone
Because no way I getting this game full price with this horrible performance
World and Rise looks and runs way better with LESS

MH generations ultimate looks better, I would trade this AAA mess of a graphics for that old game graphics, because on that game they took care of the art, I could go afk on the multiple great views that game gives, even if the skybox is just a image and some 3D models here and there, still looks better then this new games we are getting

What is the point of having graphics like this if less than half of the players can really enjoy it at its fullest

I rather not buy the game, than wasting the money I don't have on overpriced GPUs just because they are too lazy to optimize the game like they should from the start

Hope dies at least!^^
I mean ... Cyberpunk 2077 what a mess on release and then, there were updates over updates, even when ppl didn't thought there would be anymore released and how great the game turned around was insane!

- But I bought it after the release of Phantom Liberty, so everything was fine then.^^

So... I do hope, that even Capcom can do the turn around and bring that game into a very enjoyable state for everyone.

Elden Ring ... everyone loves it - I hate it, not because of difficulty or the lore, it's just because the performance whcih really s*cks!
Framedrops from above 120fps (framecap unlocked), to about 40fps - wtf!
Before they fixed something, they released a DLC? - What a Cash-Grab!^^

Today, I will give it another try with some more nice to have tweaks that I know of now.
Maybe - just maybe I can get it running better with raytracing enabled, because it just looks so much better with it.

Yes indeed!
MH: World was my first game of the series - but I really enjoyed it!
Yes ... the fights were sometimes a pain in the a*s, but the reward-feeling was as high as the difficulty.
All the preparation for monster-hunts was great, to setup the equippment and that.
The Multiplayer was as well very nice, because to make plans together and who takes what sort of equippment into the hunt was just amazing.

I hope ... I really-really hope for better days with MH: Wilds.^^

Some fun dates.

The 1060 released in 2016.
Monster Hunter World released in 2018 as a console exclusive.

The PS4 has a Radeon GPU roughly similar to a GTX 570.

Now, I wonder how in the world it might be possible for a 1060 to run World better than Wilds.
It's not like the card is 5? generations of hardware out of date or anything.
Surely, hardware from 9 years ago should be able to perfectly run modern games ....

Even though I have been playing and enjoying Monster Hunter since the PS2 version and followed every generation with the series being the sole reason I own a PSP, Wii, Wii U, DS and then a PS4... I can, without a shred of hesitation tell you that Wilds has some awful technical issues.

However, I can also tell you that the game itself is incredibly fun and genuinely worth playing.

If you can stomach the technical issues, I would still recommend the game.
If you feel like it's a deal breaker, Just wait for patches.l or grab a ps5 version, as I hear it runs well there (citation needed, everyone I know personally has it on PC)

Wait - that's not a question, I don't mind to run this game with a 1060 - that's misleaded!
That's my System today:

I hope for patches, yes.
I will try the "repack" version as well - the .exe most, because it will run without Denuvo DRM, so ... I bought the game, but if there's an exchangeable .exe file, which fixes perfromance issues, I will use it and sleep very well doing it.

Definitely not at launch, I remember my problems with launch.. and even a month after, Kishala Daora would nearly stall most computers due to insane particle effects on medium settings and above.

World absolutely ironed out those issue, but it did take time.

But I'm really enjoying Wilds, I do feel a little nostalgic for a hub-area, but that might be the new gathering area coming next month. I wouldn't worry about content, *Every* single Monster Hunter is like this. It launches, it has a story and the basic option side quests, new content comes out and events and so on. Monster Hunter lives and dies off it's post-launch support.

I've been a hopeless addict to Monster Hunter since Freedom Unite hit the west, Wilds feels very 'standard' for me on release which is a 'pretty good, but I think it'll be better in *x months." I'm really loving the combat, but I think monsters need a big HP buff. Fights are over pretty fast, and while I love the wound system, I think them doing nearly 500 damage is very excessive.

Right now, the farming experience is what i'm here for, It's pretty good here even at the base game, but I feel the fights are not a challenge for me (Which is fair, Skill from Generations Ulitmate does carry over to worlds..worlds carries to rise, rise carries to wilds)

I've put 500 hours on Worlds, 100 on rise (probably closer to 160 with the switch version)
and i genuinely have no clue how many hundreds of hours on the handheld versions of the rest of the games. My Gen Ult save file is 842 hours alone.
I'm a real big fan of the speed of Worlds/Wilds, it's real fun even if it's "easier" than the clunky old generations. But I feel Wilds really would have to pump up their monsters to keep me fighting.

But i'm like 85% certain they'll do it
