Where to catch Gravid Bowfin?

I've been all over the Forest map, but I cant seem to catch 1. Can anyone share me a good spot to catch one for quest? Thanks

yes it doesnt like jiggling, it scares it. i jiggled once in front of it and it immediately bite. but if i do too much it gets scared. as far as i know only this fish got such behaviour.

Scarlet Forest, 17 -- Make sure it's Morning and the Weather/Season is on Plenty.

It's easier to find this one during a season of plenty. The section right outside the Underground Lake Camp in the Forest will have a couple during that season. I had the same issue for a while, mostly catching them by chance with a net in the other underground area when I was nabbing gold/plat fish.

They look like a brown/amber Gravid Bowfin

It only took me like 5 or 10 minutes at the oasis in the plains. Change the time to plenty and I think morning.

I've looked everywhere for this fish. Tried plenty, morning and both forest and field areas and it does not spawn. It may be the worst fishing quest they've ever designed and it either needs to be fixed or a mod should do that.

i needed to learn of to wiggle that stupid fish would bite if i dont spam w/s ( i think for controller was it the left stick) without wiggle it takes hours until he bites

here is how you do it: (i saw it in a comment in youtube)
I got it first try.
1- Plenty Weather Morning
2- Use Emerald jitterbait
3- slow reel to attract it. (To slow reel on ps5 controller, use turn your left joystick in a “circle” like motion.

Please upvote so people will see sooner. In pc just go W-A-S-D. I catch in icy cliffss area 1

This! Finally! It worked. The spot was on the oasis in the desert (Area 13). Followed the Plenty Weather and morning. If I didn't saw the Gravid bowfin (Goldish fish) I just simply go to another region and go back to the oasis again. was able to spawn in 2nd Time. Phew.. Thank you!
