Honestly the combat is very engaging. You're always moving, making micro decisions. Dodging, styling with counters, using the wounds system, maybe you get a big pack and decide F it I'm tussling with 3 at once today(Which is honestly a lot of fun, had 2 Nerscylla jump me once and I had neglegted to bring Dung pods, was a very chaotic fight).
Wilds has 25 monsters, lets double that with DLC, so thats 50. Thats still very low
They'll bring it back with content updates starting with the one in April.
What Star are the monsters you're fighting? And I don't mean Quest Rank, I mean the Stars you see next to their name.
I noticed this fighting a few different Tempered, had some show up with 5 stars and they did hit harder and take more hits to put down. I'm trying to figure out if this is just all random chance, or if there is some way to manipulate the game into pumping out more fights at higher stars.
And monster count it's like one less than World at launch and then they'l keep adding a few more till the expansion so I'd guess Wilds will have around 70 monsters at the end just like World.
Like were already getting I think two more monster within a month or so.
I think some match ups can be a pain in the story with certain weapons, but in some cases, like the echo bubbles that can heal you on some hunting horns, you can put those down against larger monsters, and get tons of sustain while swinging blindly. Cases like that are unique though since these are pretty under-played weapons suddenly being top choices. What I appreciated was seeing more monsters like the primordial octopus types, and a big water element juggernaut, as well.
Environment uses and ease of acquiring good sling ammo was also high, so I'm assuming a lot of veteran players were doing tons of stagger and dps with all that, too.
I'm curious to see what each weapon type emerges as in terms of players being flashy on g rank later on. It can be really fun to watch.
Furthermore, the most difficulty (to me) did came from the DLC and I think Wilds will not be different in this matter.
Finally, I would say I much fun playing this game.
