All of a sudden crashing every ~20 minutes??
My performance has been good enough since release but all of a sudden I'm now experiencing crashes around every 20 minutes, is this something that happened with a new patch or what?

yes, your files got likely corrupted as often happens with a patch on steam. verify your files to repair them
I was getting insane stutters after an update until I restarted my PC.

Same here, I was crashing on joining side quests but it was because DLSS, I played well with FSR until now. Today its just crashing every 20 mins randomly.

Share a DxDiag report if you want advice.

Verify your game files in steam and maybe delete the shader file in the game directory so it can recompile. Steam patches typically corrupt files, same kind of threads showed up every time Elden Ring updated.

If it happens while loading areas (like joining another persons quest/SOS) try disabling Frame gen for 1 mission, then after you are done you can re-enable it.

Ive tried both verifying files and deleting shader cache and now the game will not even start, even when it does the game crashes during loading this is just ridiculous

hmm did u make any custom changes to the game's files, or your pc since u last played just fine? sometimes third party programs like msi after burner overlay could cause issues too

got the game to launch and play only to crash 20 minutes later, really disappointing
x2 The game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good but the optimization ruin the experience. I decide to pause my gameplay until the crash are fixed.

I must say that I have never experienced a game install getting corrupted from a Steam update. It has happened due to other reasons but never from simply updating the game.

a lot of people wont even consider certain glitches coming from file corruption as it can be very subtle and random, but it definitely happens a lot more people think. it can range from crashing at certain points, to animations not working correctly, vertex explosions, black screens, even falling trough the floor (elden ring file corruption in early days). theres also thousands of posts in various games where a file verification fixed their issue.

i think the Satisfactory devs went into detail of why its happening with steam's delta patch system in one of their videos, but it was one of the pre-release update videos

I'm not saying it's not possible, but I have never had anything you describe happen from a Steam update to game. I just believe that if a Steam game update causes corruption then you are experiencing other issues in your system.

I think lot's of causes where issues have been solved by verifying the integrity of the game files were problems caused by other things. For example, I have experienced file corruption due unstable RAM, CPU, and GPU overclocks. I've even helped troubleshoot PCs for friends where the XMP profile was unstable out of the box and they were having similar issues to what you describe.
