Stuck at hunter rank 40

Tried doing SOS, tried doing optional quest, nothing works
anybody found a solution?

Update to move past Lvl 40 with main mission: If you're stuck on Lvl 40. You will have find and fight a new monster in the area. Look on your side quest and look for the monster with ??? beside it. Or go to a local quest and see if anyone is fighting a monster with ??? and tag in with them. It should unlock.

A buddy of mine was stuck on Lvl 40 and could not do the main mission. So once we figured out that we had to fight a ??? monster to unlock that monster to move forward with the quest. Hope that helps.

The way to resolve the glitch is to join someone else's SOS main story quest mission, which will trigger you being able to get the next main story quest. For example, join an SOS for the spider+anjanath mission, thundering flowers. I think you can even join and leave but not 100% on that- it tried to make me redo the frost leviathan that I already did the mission for, I joined an SOS for it and left, it progressed my main story ahead of that.

It is in fact an unresolved bug, at least in terms of retroactively being fixed to those already affected, and that is the current workaround.

This fixed my softlock. I was capped at 40 and just finished the slay jin dahaad HR quest. talking to olivia would trigger the talking cutscene but it would softlock there. Joining an SOS flare for the same quest and finishing it moved me along. Talking to olivia after SOS flare didn't softlock anymore

You have a mainquest you need to do. Open your world map and take a look at the red icon above one of the locations.

I'm stuck too, i Will try to do à "??? Monster". I hope it will work.... (chapter 5.2, my main quest is "raise your HR")

Took me like 12 monsters to get through all the HR 40 mini quests, you basically have to discover everything up to HR 40 hunt wise. I used the time to complete all my optional quests, side missions, and investigations that were available. When you get through it, I jumped up to 55, so ballpark its not a waste of time. I just hit 100. Can’t wait for title update #1

i was stuck at 40 same as you but you just need to do the main quest to unlock past 40 and if ur still stuck at lvling up ur hr u just need to join a quest or do one to unlock and the interaction with alma past that 3 more big hunt and u will be good

HR40 gets unlocked once you do all the Main quests associated whit it if the same quests are not pooping do some side missions and they will pop.

you also need to gather enough HR points to level up to at least 41. after you beat the last quest you will unlock HR 41+.

I was stuck at 40 for a couple days. Just keep killing until new quests pop up. After I cleared that red triple assignment mission, I had to kill Arkveld (for the 3rd? time) for the Chapter 6 final mission and it finally uncapped me from 40 to HR 51

happened me also, just do an optional quest, return maincamp, then alma going to say that you need to talk with olivia. i believe it has something to do with exp-pool.
