Focus works on the refill rate. Focus lvl 3 reduces this time to 48 seconds for a gauge lvl 1, and reduces it to 40 seconds for a gauge lvl 3.

I always put special ammo boost on my HBG, and never really had a issue with its recharge rate either. Personally, i really like the guard skill on it, but that is just me.

I ran a focus 3 jewel on my HBG up until a day or two ago. I switched to a piece 3 jewel for the downtime of when you do not have wyvernheart and I think you build it almost as fast, but with your pierce ammo being buffed as well.

Im running focus 3. I was shooting 3 pierce bullets x2 and my ignition gauge would be full but it suddenly stopped working. Does anyone have an idea why? Thanks

You probably stopped hitting with your shots. The ignition gauge fills up (a lot) faster from hitting weak spots with regular ammunition. As long as you keep hitting properly, you should be rewarded with much faster ignition regeneration.
