I think MHWilds is killing my internet
The first couple of days MHWilds was running perfectly with no problems whatsoever.

Today out of nowhere my internet kept dropping/crashing and would come back only to drop again. I contacted my ISP to see what was going on but they themselves couldn’t find what was going on.

Decided to just hop off for the day since I couldn’t play with my friends. Turn off pc and few minutes later, internet is working perfectly fine. Waited 2 hours to see if it would drop again but it didn’t. Thought it was probably fixed already so I turn on my pc and just be on a discord call. Everything seems fine. Open MHWilds and go online and once again, drops my internet completely.

I was still confused as to why and once I closed wilds it would go back so I jokingly told my friend what if it’s MHWilds making my internet crash. Searched it up just incase turns out it happened with Worlds as well and a couple of people with Wilds.

I’m not so sure of what to do to fix this or what’s even causing this problem. If I can get any help or if capcom can please fix it because that’s actually crazy if a game is causing my internet to crash.

Did you let the modem cool down? What model is it to begin with?

You are not using an ASUS Mainboard, right?

Yeah let it cool down for a bit. The customer service rep told me to just wait 10 minutes. The modem was provided by Xfinity. Think is the XFi one or something along those lines

Yikes. Those are known to break after a comparitively short life time due to weak capacitors.

You sure have your reasons, however, in general I recommend a proper modem bought by yourself.

If you need a tool for that, I doubt you need to do that to begin with.

You could have an issue with your network driver tho

Random, but when i use to play League of Legends, if my wife started Sims 4 I would immediately get 5000+ ping so I've seen some weird stuff before with internet lol.

Why would you even use this.....
Randomly finding it or being recommended it and not understanding that its a scam i guess, bloatware is weird.

Like even IF you needed something like it youd use https://www.netlimiter.com/ and not this weirdly named software whos website looks like its gonna try to sell your kidneys

If your pc overheated at some point it could have damaged your ethernet components.

360 is meant to work in the Chinese echo-system. Trying to use it outside of China, is counter-productive. Plus even in China, tech-savy people don't really like to use it because, no matter the benefits, it's a resource hog. Take it from where it's coming from: the cons outweigh the pros.

I like to take care of my pc a lot, I havent had problems with the pc itself. Game as well in terms of running. My temps are pretty normal and running on medium settings just for the fps. the first few days I had no problem but it all started yesterday.

Like I said this morning till afternoon I had 0 problems with my internet until i opened MHWilds

So, process of elimination: ISP says there are no issues. They could be lying but probably don't have a reason to do so. Temp was low, so no burn, from what you said. What system are you using? Did you download something or do something other than play the game in the days prior?
Last but least likely: did you have an electric storm or a power surge in the past month in your area?
Edit: oh and do you know where the word "bug" came from originally? Flush your computer with dry air, just in case. Power it down first though.

Yeah ISP could just be lying out there ass but idk.

My specs

ROG STRIX Z490-E MB
Intel I7-10700KF
32 DDR4 RAM Vengeance
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti

as mentioned before never actually had problems with my pc, even when running MHWIlds before.

Havent downloaded anything for the game itself, latest thing I have downloaded was just an FL Studio update from their own website
This happened to me too so it’s not as ‘can’t happen’ as some will make it out. The game was fine for a few days and today twice now the audio bugged out and made my wifi inaccessible and stayed that way until I restart my PC.

This doesn’t happen at all until I start playing Wilds for a bit.
