I think MHWilds is killing my internet
The first couple of days MHWilds was running perfectly with no problems whatsoever.

Today out of nowhere my internet kept dropping/crashing and would come back only to drop again. I contacted my ISP to see what was going on but they themselves couldn’t find what was going on.

Decided to just hop off for the day since I couldn’t play with my friends. Turn off pc and few minutes later, internet is working perfectly fine. Waited 2 hours to see if it would drop again but it didn’t. Thought it was probably fixed already so I turn on my pc and just be on a discord call. Everything seems fine. Open MHWilds and go online and once again, drops my internet completely.

I was still confused as to why and once I closed wilds it would go back so I jokingly told my friend what if it’s MHWilds making my internet crash. Searched it up just incase turns out it happened with Worlds as well and a couple of people with Wilds.

I’m not so sure of what to do to fix this or what’s even causing this problem. If I can get any help or if capcom can please fix it because that’s actually crazy if a game is causing my internet to crash.

A game can not cause your internet to "crash".

You could have an issue with your network driver tho

See that’s what im saying myself like no actual way it’s doing that. But coincidentally I’m off Wilds and no internet problems. Soon as I go online in Wilds internet no longer works. So I am very confused

One thing we could try is, open CMD as Admin and do
sfc /scannow

This willl scan your windows system files and recover them if any of them are corrupt, the only other thing i could think is either driver issue, or some other issue with your windows sinstallation.

Definitely not something capcom could fix tho

But wouldn’t that just be the pc itself for checking on internet problems? It’s happening to the actual router/modem where it goes offline.
Based on what I read on another thread apparently game is eating up to many system resources but I don’t know how true is that.

Barely ever have have internet issues.

Have tried that a few times at the beginning but it still keeps happening. I started testing it out by just trying other games and so far my internet hasn’t dropped.

Wait your actual modem is resetting???

In that case id actually do a factory reset on the modem since that is not a thing it should just do randomly, and if its provided by your ISP ask them to replacement since its faulty

Yeah the entire modem just shuts off. I got Xfinity and all though they aren’t the best lol I haven’t had this problem previously. I was on the phone with them they were checking the “status” of the modem and apparently they couldn’t find any problems. They are sending out a technician to see if it’s faulty. But as I stated before playing a different game and I have yet to see my WiFi drop

Yeah, the main thing here is that regardless if its this game, or another game, its just not something that should ever physically happen, there is no reason a modem should die because of a games network traffic.

It's one of those times its generally pretty clear cut that the hardware is most likely at fault

If that doesnt work I suggest you go to your local ISP store and get a new modum. They should replace yours for free. Best inquire how to with customer service.

I sure hope it’s just a faulty modem. Because I truly don’t believe MHWilds is causing this but just the coincidence is very convincing lmao

Did you let the modem cool down? What model is it to begin with?

You are not using an ASUS Mainboard, right?

I’ll probably just have it replaced tomorrow and hopefully it stops, been grinding the game nonstop lmao
