Is it true that newbies of MH games see the UI as confusing?
just as the title said, I've think some folks don't like the UI cause of how confusing. Is it time that monster hunter redo the UI elements for the newbies?

World baby here, no, no I do not.

Cumbersome though? Very yes.

Not sure a redo is needed though, you get used to it.

If they find THAT confusing I'd like to see them on older games... god those were something...
I don't know bro, I've played MH games since like the PSP era and while you do get used to it, like I haven't played World for maybe a year or something and coming into this title the user interface and menus pissed me off for a while

I used to love the navigation of it all but now its just like, you people can design some beautiful incredible armour sets and tons of other things - I can only dream what the user interface and menus could look like with half the effort you put into that

Like ♥♥♥♥, preparing for a hunt is so important

Why can't they put a big button you can click in your tent, that opens up a window that includes things like refreshing your loadout with a simple click, and consuming a meal just as simply?

No, you gotta ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ enter the tent after a small yet annoying animation, and scroll through a menu to get to that ♥♥♥♥ with multiple clicks.

The canteen and the chest you used for opening your inventory were better in World

I just don't get their decisions sometimes honestly
First MH Game and extremely confusing to me
Yes, it's not self explanatory (like many things in this game).

The same goes especially for that strange round, colored circle thingie in the left bottom middle of the screen, when you have mounted a monster.
Since I dont know and nothing explained that mechanic to me, I simply hammer the hit buttons like a maniac, until the thingie gets red, than a few hits more, before executing the finisher.

But I really have no clue how it REALLY works, since this thingie seems to react to my strikes differently (propably the timing).

This game is not very good in teaching newbies the ropes, tbh.

Yes its incredibly bad. They need to get rid of that dialog fetish they got going on. I don't need a confirmation dialog for every little thing and another dialog telling me I did what I wanted to do.
They need to learn what tooltips and dropdown lists are so we dont need multiple layers of sub menus.
Why would they add a button to "go to take all" but only highlight the button instead of simply executing the action?
There are so many UI interactions that could be simplified or sped up.

And then of course there is that utter mess of 4 or 5 different item bars you can use while hunting.

Hell, it is true that even veterans see it as confusing.

There is a reason why I turn off so many HUD elements, after all.

It's very ugly old style UI from the late 90's/early 00's. I notice video games from Japan all use this style of big blocky text boxes that take up so much space on your screen, and LONG explanation and reels of text.

Everything is always over explained and given to you all at once.

worst UI ive ever seen and i have played probably 1000 games by now
I can definitely see it being confusing to new players, it's absolutely something with a learning curve to it.
i play world and rise and none of the older series, maybe tri but only dabbled very little due to having to emulate it on a potato laptop makes it hot as stove.

yes the ui is still bloody confusing and convoluted esp for kb+m

example? like u can use the map to access monsters and quest in an area and theres a seperate button to go into the same thing but now u can select those items like wtf cant they just be in the same page

I wonder if someone can make a whole UI mod to change the entire UI to be better.

I've played multiple MH games and the way the menus are set up is objectively terrible. They just kept adding more and more menus between new releases without ever reorganizing them.
The new interface/UI for menu, equipment crafting, changing equipment is really.. horrible.. come on Capcom, it is so obvious they are leading towards cosmetic, therefore the design of this ultery disgusting crafting and equipment. the number of UI interactions argh. geez. That being said, there are really very good quality of life function added, but i believe some of them should be only given after the campaign or even the extend on only after HR. where is the monster hunter world experience ? please do stop assuming making a game with good graphics, character customization mean you have achieved what gamers want. This is the 6th entry. Cannot believe they fail so badly.

It is not different than it was before.
