Cooldown on status effects?
Is there a cooldown for apply paralysis? Or any other effect? Curious if the monster builds up resistance during a fight or if there's an internal cooldown.

Yeah, the more you apply a status, the more you have to apply it to get a proc. Historically the amount you have to apply has usually maxed out after four applications. I don't know if Flash/Screamer Pod immunity turns into a thing like it did in World yet.
Note that this also applies to mounting and powerclash. Offset has a short cooldown before it can happen again but I don't believe it works in the same way as mounting and powerclash.
yes to all ! they get more resistant and their is a cool down ofn the buff applying and ! its like a invisble bar that builds up on the monster then afflicting the the ailment this is the same for mounting {each jump attack builds up mount damage until some one gets a mount} and the same for clash attacks!

jow ever i will say status ailments like para seem incredibly strong in this game to the point were teams can stop a monster moving for a whole fight due to constant stagger focus mode strikes can cause you mix that will full para builds and the monsters have 0 hope!
Good to know. Thanks for the info.

With a bunch of deco's primed for status application you can still get 2, 3 if you're efficient; hunts in wilds usually don't last long enough for a fourth to proc. But yeah as others have said, it gets harder each time.

My fav paralysis weapon is the hammer, as it applies KO and paralysis both for hitting the head. (But can more often than not - it applies one while the other is applied, cancelling the other out early lol)
