is element good in wilds?
In World-Ice and Rise, element was generally mid at best, and you were better off going pure raw.

Is it the same here? or is it still best to just raw dog the entire game?

You're probably better off looking at what IL speedrunners are doing if you want that kind of data.
its not that element is bad back in world/ice but because raw works on everything and you dont have to swap while ele builds are restrictive on mobs that are weak to it.

dat said im not a pro and im a casual scrub

In this game it feels quite good but mostly because there's not really an outstanding raw option, gravios weapons could be good but it has negative affinity and I think no white sharpness. Depending on your weapon it could not be worth if you don't hit too often like with hammer, GS, GL (mostly shell damage). Some average speed weapons like longsword it could be good but someone will have to come with data tests on that.

And I don't know the situation of elemental phial vs power and impact on switch axe and CB, on sunbreak it was about 2-3x more damage for elemental on the phial explosions (sometimes more like 5x damage on CB on speedruns, but idk how, I didn't play the weapon in that game). If they gap is still this large then no doubt CB and switch axe will be elemental.
ailments are super strong! ie PARA

I'd take paralysis and even poison over elements.

Besides, the most important thing about a weapon in Wilds is its inbuilt skills, rather than its element.
