You baby sit a lost kid. Yay. Woo..*sigh*Hoo.....
Then theres the choice of returning monsters: I mean its nice seeing kutku and gypceros in current gen but taking a bunch of beginner monsters, giving them 1 or 2 new moves each and putting them into what is the endgame feels really disapointing, why not throw the dromes into endgame at that point? Also who has a hardon for the monkeys at capcom? I cant imagine anyone really clamoured for a return of the pink fart-ape and angry old white man on a mountain.
The Apex predators for each region are rather meh, same for their armor sets. Cant say there was really anything outstanding about them. Also doesnt help that 2 of them get totaly wrecked by the chain gang wyvern. Doesnt feel very "apex" if they get curbstomped by another monster in a cutscene. (special mention to the oily squid, his apearance actually made him out to be a menace)
The guardian monsters dont really stand out either that well in my opinion... considering they are these artificial monsters made to guard a certain place they just feel like perpetual pissed versions that have an explosion attack or 2 in addition to their normal attacks to annoy the player. Heck they even fight each other when you would expect them to work together against the hunters/normal monsters instead
All in all i think World beats the crap out of Wilds in terms of monster presentation and introduction. Wilds has the better story... wich can feel rather rushed in parts... and wilds has the MUCH MUCH better handler XD
World had 37 at launch, rise had 29
Ngl i thought that squid was gonna be an elder dragon that would have been super cool but nope! Anyways as i said, wilds was clearly super rushed, world is a significantly better game
Yeah bow dogwalks everything and its not even funny. But hopefully the dlc will fix these issues
You would think after obliterating not one but 2 fire apes with ease just using its tentacles that thing would be a huge friggin deal.... and then you go and turn it into sashimi in an instant in a bog standard battle.
Ancient Leshan, Anjanath, Barroth, Bazelgeuse, Behemoth, Deviljho, Diablos, Black Diablos, Dodogama, Great Giros, Great Jagras, Jyuratodus, Kirin, Kulu-Ya-Ku, Kulve Taroth, Kushala Daora, Lavasioth, Legiana, Leshen, Lunastra, Odogaron, Nergigante, Paolumu, Pukei-Pukei, Radoban, Rathalos, Azure Rathalos, Rathian, Pink Rathian, Teostra, Tobi-Kadachi, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, Uragaan, Vaal Hazak, Xeno'Jiva, Zora Magdaros. 36, But Lunastra, Kulve Tarroth, Deviljho, Ancient Leshan, Leshan, and Behemoth were added in title updates. So the base game had 30. Just 2 more than Wilds 28 (29 if you count Zoh Shia but I don't)
Rise has 46 with 9 being added from updates making its total 37 at launch.
This also doesn't feature proper elder dragons (low rank final boss probably could count as an elder dragon, also gore magala is an immature elder dragon), but it was an intentional design and story decision from the developers, probably because they would only fit better on later with new content and expansion.
