Artisan weapons (Bow, piercing coat)
Can you forge Artisan bows with pierce coatings on? I've only seen Power & Close range..

Try using the different elements or statuses. For HBG if you build full status you get elemental ammo as well so maybe it's like that for Bow too, just check the preview of the build. Make sure to use 2-3 of the same element/status

No it says if use 3 different elements it'll be no element. I don't know for other Weapons but if you make a 2 element HBG Artian Weapon it'll have elemental ammo with 1 less mag size for that element. If you use 3 status you get both that status and element but the element also has 1 less mag.

It costs alot of money to keep making these combos to try and get a pierce bow though, ran out of money. And I'm HR 80 lol

You don't need to fully craft them check the stats on the preview of the build. I said it on the original comment

It doesnt apply the ammo type craft until you craft it. Its Greyed out on "Close Range Coating" and when you craft it you have a chance to get "Power Coating"... So I'm wondering if I can get pierce coating

i got pierce coating from Poison and Paralysis in Artisan bows.
Depends on the element or status combination of the parts atk/affinity doesn't matter. 2 of the same type will have an ammo type related to it. Thunder gets power ammo, dragon gets power ammo, blast gets blast ammo, poison gets poison ammo, sleep gets sleep ammo, ice gets pierce ammo. You can literally see if you put the parts in different combinations. The only way to get MORE coatings is by using all parts of the same element or status.
Using 3 poison + attack infusion got me pierce coatings
You definitely want to use 3 of the same parts to get the extra coating. Most coatings are useless, and if you aren't using a good coating you're just throwing damage away. I made a 3 xAttack Dragon bow with Power Infusion, same with Thunder. And then 3xAffinity Ice bow with Piercing. Unsure if Piercing coatings are worth it given how our shots track atm and Dragon Piercer pierces automatically.
Seems like Thunder & Dragon get Power Coating, Ice and the Status Bows (i.e. Raw Bows with status coatings) get Pierce... and Fire & Water get nothing but Close Range. Admittedly you can already get plenty of Fire Pierce Bows and pretty good Water & Thunder Pierce Bows..... but there is already a Dragon Power bow and no Pierce option... so this kinda sucks.
If while crafting the artian weapon you switch to Weapon type bonus in the window to the right, it'll tell you what coatings the bow will have if crafted with the current parts
