Y=B attacks are hard to press
especially with being physically handicapped. I know MH pretty much always had attacks using these buttons but now all weapons use this input. I mained hammer in world and rise so it wasn't an issue for me.

is there anything i can do to make this input easier?

Possibly something you can bind to a single button press on a paddle on either the xbox elite controller or dualsense edge.
I usually press Y with the pad of my thumb and B with the inside of the second knuckle. You might find using a claw grip easier depending on how your hands are - use your thumb to hit A and X and your index finger to hit Y and B, and use your middle and ring fingers for RB and RT.
I'm not sure if the game will let you directly modify your layout and the game really tried to use every one of its buttons, but you could maybe set up left/right stick click to be a macro, since you probably won't use either of those functions under normal circumstances.

Can I ask what weapon you're using? I saw someone complaining that they were finding the HH(I think) Y+B input very difficult, and some weapons have very strict timing for simultaneous inputs (e.g. Switch Axe sword RT+Y parry needs you to be very strict, while you can input Charge Blade sword RT+Y guard-morph slash with the RT years before the Y).

What kind of moves hammer has that needs Y+B / triangle + circle?
you can use one finger to nail both buttons at the same time. Try thumb. Index or middle finger for r1 and r2. thumb easily handles triangle or circle or both w one press, its so big.

Get a gamepad with back button and macro function maybe, and put y+b into one of the back button

easier than LT R1 that messed direction since there no option for focus to align with character direction than camera direction

What exact controller are you using? If you are using an xbox series x which has that extra share button perhaps you could rebind start to Y+B and then the share button to bring up the menu. Using start to attack is something from the older MH games. RB and LS both are binded to sprint so another option would be to bind either of those to Y+B.

Are you familiar with steam big picture mode and its ability to rebind controller stuff?
