Arkveld tips/advice
One of the biggest issues I am having with Arkveld is that his attacks are a bit all over the place.

It's difficult to read and it feels like most of his attacks don't hit but register as such simply because he's flailing around.

Most of the time, I am fighting the camera than I am him and the fight just sucks when he's placed in locations that he literally doesn't fit in. ( I hope they fix that. Put him locations that are more open)

Does anyone have any tips for him or recognized some sort of pattern that I can take advantage of.

I hate this thing.

Are you using the automatic lock-on for Monsters?
It's absolutely horrendous and I make sure to always disable it, makes the fights a lot harder.

Most of the time rolling towards him trivialises his attacks. He has slow but long reaching attacks, yet the hitboxes are missing from his body, so treat his belly and beyond as safe zones.

Just be careful and watch his tail. There's either the straight tail tab, or the annoying spinning tail one. One is fast, the other is slow but the hitbox is way bigger.

If you have a weapon that can block, just perfect guard everything not hard. Even his nuke can be guarded this way.

if you're fighting the camers, change the camera.

set ZOOM to far, and non-adjust to terrain, for starters.

Depends on the Weapon, but stay close seems to be much safer, most attacks go outward in front of him.
But i am a Lance user, which trivializes the fight anyway.

Zoom your camera out in settings, its 4 by default, 10 is the max, which feels a lot more like the older titles. You can actually track him better that way. Other than that, just learn which direction he will attack based on where you are. Quick sheathe 3 is cheap on a talisman and helps you put away your weapon to sprint or dive for i frames. Your seikret can also pick you up from a knockdown with super armor so you can pull back and heal with 0 consequence.

Dont that make case for.... 95% of the monsters thou? Anything that isnt an annoying flying bassically.
yeah but OP is asking for advice with arkveld not 95% of the monsters lol

Also, lance is good on flying monsters because it can jump.

If you have a weapon that can block, he cannot touch you - his attacks are medium to slow, you can easily see them coming. Just focus on blocking and damage it in between attacks.

The safest place to be in that fight is right under his nose, literally. Under his head. He has no bite attack, no forward limbs swipe, no breath attack, his big AoEs begin a few meters in front of his head. Right under his nose, he has nothing to hit you with.

At his tail is dangerous - the only really fast attack that he has is a tail slam if you hit him from behind. That thing is VERY fast and hurts.

On the side - he spins around constantly and his giant wings and appendages will hit you all the time there. If you are under his head and see him trying to spin around, all you have to do is roll or move a bit forward towards his legs and the whole swipe misses you.

The best defense here is a good offense. Wounding him and destroying the wounds will knock him out on the ground. There is great opportunity to wound him after he does his frontal appendage strike with lightning - all of those tentacles sit there for like 10 seconds and he does nothing - a good long swinging weapon can hit multiple at the same time, potentially creating several wounds. Pop them all and he is down to beat upon.

I've also seen people use flashpods and traps liberally to create more opportunities to damage him and wound him - destroying the wounds after is another KO for even more torture.

What also helps is one person with Wide Range/Recovery Up/Speed Eating - you can save teammates from dying and save a ton of potions for later use. Makes the fight a lot easier.
