Support for 16:10 aspect ratio, Capcom I beg you
Please let us remove those black bars :mhwno:

I'm away from home for a long time, so I must play on a laptop, which has a 2880x1800 resolution, so 16:10 aspect ratio. Playing this game on a 14" screen is already painful, so I'd love to exploit every inches of that screen and not have nearly 11% of it wasted with balck black bars.

The game detects my screen resolution and show me only 16:10 resolutions in the setting list.
But somehow, the game is still running in letterbox mode, with those horrendous black bars.
I tried windowed, borderless window, "automatic aspect ratio" ... not working.

---

There is even a block in the config.ini file listing exactly my screen specs :

DisplayMode65_Height=1800 DisplayMode65_RefreshRateDenominator=1 DisplayMode65_RefreshRateNumerator=120 DisplayMode65_Width=2880

But I don't know how to use it.

You can try to mess with the config.ini all you want but as soon as you start the game it will revert the changes. So this isn't the most ideal solution but for now it works...

So just FYI: my laptop display has a 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio (Nvidia RTX 4080) and this how I was able to fix the issue with getting fullscreen (aka the grey bars on the top and bottom of my screen)

- Download the zip file here https://github.com/praydog/REFramework-nightly/releases/download/nightly-01077-702e9733349645db378ebf5892487a0a9ac89a9b/MHWILDS.zip
-Extract the "reframework" folder and "Dinput8.dll" into the game folder (where the Monster Hunter .exe is located (usually in C:/Program Files 86/Steam/Steamapps/common/Monster Hunter Wilds).
- Launch the game. You should see the REFramework menu and if you don't you can press the Insert key to bring up the menu (default keybinding).
- Navigate to the Graphics tab and check the following boxes:
x - Ultrawide/FOV/aspect ratio fix
x - Ultrawide: Override FOV (Use the slider to adjust your FOV to your preference)
x - Force Resolution to window size

I don't know if it matters but I also have my scaling mode set to fullscreen under the Nvidia Control Panel Settings under Display>Adjust Desktop Size and Position and I have "perform scaling on" set to "GPU" and I checked the box that says, "override the scaling mode set by games and programs."

You're welcome
Thank you kind sir, it works ! :mhwgood:
However, it has a certain impact on performance
