Ah, for those you actually just need to wait until the monster rotates in. Away from game but iirc there's a timer menu of events on the map screen where I believe you can see when a monster is about to come in. Also you can hunt other monsters in the area to cycle in others faster.

If you're not adverse to playing with others, you can search SOS Flares and see if someone has it in the area that you need.

i see ppl you dont understand..... ITS NOT A QUESTTROUGH MISSION, YOU NEED KILL IT ON OPEN MAP WITHOUT QUEST SO NO SOS ETC

it is a quest. when you select a monster off the map it will make a quest with that monster and will count towards the side quest you are doing. When people make a quest that way and then send an SOS you can join them and complete the quest.

the log tells you aprox when they spawn, and you can skip time in the tend to reach it, i suppose.

but SOS is by far easier then reading a book

you cant do this quest by SOS man.........and there is no time skip...........

tent->food section->rest, it lets you pick the time and even zone biome.

and you can do it by SoS as long as the creature is in the map you need to to be.

then the only way to do it is to wait, he seems to spawn regularly, just make sure you also check the underground map.
