The game is suddenly crashing a lot?
I played through the whole Low Rank story with no crashes (not "no bad performance", but just no crashes). However, today, I can't play the game for more than a few seconds without it crashing to the desktop.

I'm HR20, and apparently just stuck in the Ice Falls base camp.

If it helps at all, when I load in the game, Alma starts approaching me to tell me about the other hunter lady wanting to talk to me in the Wyveria Ruins. Some new quest line. But, whether I go to the quest or just try to run out and hunt in the Ice Falls instead, the game crashes after a few seconds.

No settings have been changed from the last few days to today, so I'm not sure what could be happening here. Did some patch go out today that I didn't see? Anyone else having sudden issues pop up?

Verify your game files. I was crashing every time I walked into the Oil Basin, but doing that fixed it for me
It's a new patch issue, disable the framegen before joining or start the quest and re-enable it once the mission is started.
I have the same problem, complete all the LR quest with zero crash and now I can't play. I don't have frame-gen enabled

This helped me play for a few minutes! Just crashed again upon accepting the aforementioned quest, but at least I got to that point this time.

I haven't been using frame gen.

First day, It ran perfectly without any crashes for like 6-7 hours, next day and after the update, I can maybe play for 4 mins before it crashes. This is so stupid, 2 days I've been trying multiple things and nothing has worked so far.

Some boat here. Day one two and three of the game being out in ran perfectly for me and now it's completely unplayable. Even just talking to Alma to start a quest crashed me just now. Jeezus man

Yeah, nothing has been fixed since I posted this. It is still a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ experience with the frequent crashes. It's even more frustrating when I'm in the middle of a hunt with other people and it crashes shortly before the monster goes down!
Never had any issues. After last patch, same as the others here, crashes at certain hunts.
Especially the Ebony Odogaron in ruins of Wyveria.
I thought disabling FRG solved the problem as normally the game would crash about 30sec-1min into the fight. After disabling FRG, it allowed me to chase the monster 2 times..on the 3rd chase the game crashed again as before.
It's a shame because i'm kinda needing this monster's stuff... kinda (selfimpossed, but still) progress blocked now.
Posted a similar thread earlier. Done a bit more testing with my crashes. Validating files, using DDU in safe mode to clear the drivers and doing a fresh install made no change, tried both current and older drivers.
Issue does not happen with any other games, there are no issues shown in diagnostic software.
After crashes there is no crash report generated and crash report folder remains empty.

There are two types of crashes for me both happening within 10~ minutes of starting up the game.

1: If using Gemma's menu, it will freeze the GPU entirely, power cycling is the only way to regain control.
2: If exploring the map or hunting, the game and steam will fully exit out simultaneously and requiring starting up and logging into steam again.

One thing that seemed to happen in tandem with the crashes showing up is that now the game spends approximately 2-3 seconds compiling shaders every time it's started up.
Yes I have tried deleting the shader cache, and yes I have tried verifying the game files. Neither fixed the issue.

I may not be IT but I'm not so completely tech-illiterate to not know this isn't user error after checking and comparing experiences with an increasing number of people popping up with this issue over the past couple hours. At this point I'm not really looking for help, I'm just posting this as a data point for posterity in case someone more technically minded is collating information or in case someone from Capcom is noticing the issues.
