Report a translation problem
This helped me play for a few minutes! Just crashed again upon accepting the aforementioned quest, but at least I got to that point this time.
I haven't been using frame gen.
Especially the Ebony Odogaron in ruins of Wyveria.
I thought disabling FRG solved the problem as normally the game would crash about 30sec-1min into the fight. After disabling FRG, it allowed me to chase the monster 2 times..on the 3rd chase the game crashed again as before.
It's a shame because i'm kinda needing this monster's stuff... kinda (selfimpossed, but still) progress blocked now.
Issue does not happen with any other games, there are no issues shown in diagnostic software.
After crashes there is no crash report generated and crash report folder remains empty.
There are two types of crashes for me both happening within 10~ minutes of starting up the game.
1: If using Gemma's menu, it will freeze the GPU entirely, power cycling is the only way to regain control.
2: If exploring the map or hunting, the game and steam will fully exit out simultaneously and requiring starting up and logging into steam again.
One thing that seemed to happen in tandem with the crashes showing up is that now the game spends approximately 2-3 seconds compiling shaders every time it's started up.
Yes I have tried deleting the shader cache, and yes I have tried verifying the game files. Neither fixed the issue.
I may not be IT but I'm not so completely tech-illiterate to not know this isn't user error after checking and comparing experiences with an increasing number of people popping up with this issue over the past couple hours. At this point I'm not really looking for help, I'm just posting this as a data point for posterity in case someone more technically minded is collating information or in case someone from Capcom is noticing the issues.
