Is the Guild a goverment?
No one says a thing about a country, they are "from the west".

They literally keep referring to it as an organization, why do you think it's a government?

the lore on them is loose at best they're psuedo government/park rangers/mercenary band they're outside of any jurisdiction but are basically the peace keepers of the globe.

Imagine not skipping cutscenes

no, they're an organization

They managed the whole New World expedition, they manage the whole Forbidden Zone investigation. I know they are an organization, you two dumbasses, but everyone talks of them as the ones who rule. If they arent legally a country they must be close.

they're not though they are essentially a global organization that works and operates independently it has or had no fixed headquarters and works for no country or faction directly they're independent essentially being like WHO

and we told you, they aren't, they're an organization, their entire focus is upon investigating the environment and maintaining an ecosystem.

I see the missunderstanding. I said that no one says a thing about a country as in everyone talks they are from the west and pretty much avoid mentioning everything but the Guild. I was asking if this Guild is some kind of world organization. Maybe the world of Monster Hunter is an utopia except for the monsters.

in the deep lore it's anything but that the world is essentially a feudal society and the guild works independently from it

this very game mentions a war that happens, so its not an utopia

but no, i believe this person explains it well:

they're a global orginization, but they aren't a goverment, they don't pass laws or tell people how to live their life, even in this game they make it clear they only hunt to preserve life, not for the fun of it, thats about it.
There aren't countries as such In MH.

If you aren't familiar with the history, basically the "Ancient Civilisation" through extreme hubris and greed started massively culling wyvern and Elder dragons of all kinds to feed their industry and provoked a response from nature in that it turned on them wholesale and almost drove them to extinction.

MH 1 starts off many centuries later where most places are pretty much in the bronze age tech wise and the nascent hunters guild has started establishing and supporting villages close to their headquarters and enforcing a policy of living in balance with nature.

This continues through the series with periodic time jumps and the guild progressing tech and gradually spreading across the continent and then beyond.

The various regions are usually ran by local chiefs (frequently Wyverians due to the 1000 year lifespan) with guild advisors or even a local guild branch.

The guild does by and large run things throughout its territory, If people are not following guild decree's they send the Guild Knights who enforce guild law with extreme prejudice.

Thanks.
It's like The Church but more dedicated to hunting behemoths and dragons.
