What Is The Point Of Paint Pod?

Locating monsters doesn't function the same as classic Monster Hunter and as far as I have noticed, you don't lose track of monsters at all, so what is the point of the paint pod?

I think they brought it back due to the pack system so you can mark one in a group. Its still pointless due to dung pods and how lock-on works.

I was wondering about this. The first time I used it, seemingly completely by coincidence, the monster got attacked by an entire swarm of smaller monsters and I was wondering if the paint pot marked the enemy to get attacked by wildlife.

But it doesn't do that at all and I've never seen this happen again so I don't know how to trigger it.

Definitely the one thing about rise that I couldn’t stand. I was hoping they would go back to the way it worked in world where you had to track and research them before they’d show up on the map.

its a ping system to teach newbie maybe... I use it on a new player still playing monster hunter to ping everything like honey to grab... mightseed or anything thats useful and hard to explain on mic
