Plates in low rank

I defeated like 18 Odoragons, and still no plate in sight? I'm doing something wrong or should I capture them instead? should I focus my attacks in a different body part?

It's a 3% chance from target rewards, 5% from carve, 7% from tail carve. Probably just getting unlucky with a low chance.

Yeah that's the low rank chances. In High Rank it's actually arguably worse for plates at 7% chance from target rewards and nowhere else.
