Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds

View Stats:
MHWILDS is First MH Game with 0 Elder Dragon thus far.
Wilds, suprisingly didnt have any Elder Dragon in the base game.
You'd think that Arkveld would be but it isnt.
its classified as "Extinct Species"

Jin Dahaad is also suprisingly not an elder dragon given its size, and way of manipulating its surroundings and freezing everything it touches. its classified as "Leviathan"

and finally,

Zoh Shia is a "Construct" monster.

so yeah... aint that a doozy
No elder dragons yet.

i hope for less common Elder Dragons
Zoh Shia is future update locked actual final boss of this game and it is elder dragon, it literally uses attacks/animations from world fatalis, safi jiva etc.

Current Wilds is probably like 70% done and capcom will milk playerbase with future "TITLE UPDATE" (but it should have been in base game).

So, you see that apex predators change the weather when they arrive?

If you open any Monster Hunter, it says that when the elder dragons arrive, they can disrupt the entire ecosystem.. (the black dragons, on the other hand, are the ones responsible for the extinction of the first hunters' guild, particularly the Fatalis)

so they didn’t include them with this system of seasons and weather. Can you imagine what they would do if they disrupt the ecosystem when they arrive?

They will be epic in the updates (don’t worry, Kushala and Teostra must be added for the builds)

Even if this is true, they have not once locked actual gameplay content behind a pay wall, so until that happens I'm not worried. If they plan to slowly release event and hunt content for free explicitly like they always do, then cool it's fine.

It would be pretty dumb to try now and ruin all their good faith.

Timelines wise perhaps they don't have this classification yet then? Idk... but I do admit the cool visuals of weather changing in the plains and forest are cool lol the volcano/oil area doesn't have the same spice on change. But the monster is by far my favorite.

I'll tell you something else—in the old generation, did you know there was mention of this ancient civilization wiped out by a black dragon?

Do you know in which monster's description the guardians and the ancient civilization were mentioned?

In the description of the White Fatalis... xD (in fact, probably the extinction of that civilization wasn’t caused by what everyone thinks, the Arkveil, but rather the White Fatalis).

Could it maybe be the real final boss of the updates after the elder dragons ?_?

Not to mention Zoh Shia or what's it as it's layer falls off is pure black dragon underneath, which is like dragons of destruction or something in MH lore lol perhaps a Dire Moralis situation?

i never liked the term eldar dragon. that was never a good descripton for a kind of species.
most of them have 6 limps instead of 4 that would make it logical.
but then you have the unicorn and a snake and some others that also get this title.
that was a bit strange.
in only was labeld on everythink with enough power.
but then the term dragon would be enough.
the eldar allways meant there are single individuals that are realy rare. and can cause katastrophs just by being there.
would also be ok but then the gamplay showes them left and right and everywere so the were at no way rare.
so its ok for me that they try to make them more rare.
what i dont like is that they have finaly give gore a race and they decide for "semi eldar"
why not call him dragon. and get rid of the eldar term...

I think the idea is to give the impression they are rare but do to game they have to be not that rare or we couldn't make armor 😂 or they would have to make it a 1 off with all the parts lol

Some suspension of disbelief is required do to mechanics of game world vs lore world.

I think this is good honestly. World had not 1 leviathan or spider or octopus and now we have numerous.
To keep it simple. Elder dragons effect the ecosystem around them. Kushala causes storms, Val hazak emits effluvia, Shagaru emits frenzy. But Jin making the Iceshard Cliffs even colder was somehow not enough. And before anybody says it was the Dragontorch. It is mentioned multiple times in story that the blizzard is connected to Jin not the torch. However the general cold nature of the area is the Dragontorch.

But yeah, i get your point, everybody wants Chameleos, Kushala Daora, Nergigante and Teostra.
Also, not an elder dragon, but Bazelgeuse please!
No Kirin, please. Ultimate cancer that one.
I would argue Rajang might be AIDS then.

Jin Dahaad has literally all of the same characteristics of the other elder dragons in the series, the only difference is his classification in the logbook is randomly assigned as Leviathan, despite it fitting pretty much all of the guild's criteria to be considered an elder dragon. Hell, as far as I could tell he seems to be the only monster that you couldn't use traps on. If Kirin and Yama Tsukami are Elder Dragons there is no reason Jin Dahaad shouldn't be. It makes no sense why he isn't classified as an elder dragon. If any monster in this game would be an elder dragon it would be him but they actively chose to classify him as a regular monster.

And technically we don't even know if Gore Magala is or is not a true elder dragon. In his debut game he's classified as ??? for most of the game and then randomly assigned "Demi Elder Dragon" for seemingly inexplicable reasons. He is literally the only monster in the entire history of this franchise with that classification. He is Schrödinger's Elder Dragon.
Jin actually doesn't have the characteristics of an elder dragon! The strange weather is purely because of the dragonspire, the apexes merely thrive due to the weather, they don't cause it! :steamhappy:

A monster does not need to have control of the weather/element(s) to be classified as an Elder Dragon. There are several Elder Dragons that don't have this ability.
