Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds

PC recommendations for Wilds
Hello hello!

So, I am looking to buy a PC, not just for wilds but in general. My current laptop can barely run this game on lowest settings and just under 10 fps. Mind you, the laptop is a 5 year old gamong laptop with a 1070. I didn't expect it to run well to begin with so the 10 fps was a pleasant surprise.

I looked at the recommended requirements for wilds and i feel like i could get better. (I dont know much when it comes to PC parts other than the VERY BARE basics. So do correct me if i am wrong)

Help me out if you can please 🥲 i am also looking to have a budget of around 1500 pounds.

I feel like if the pc can run Wilds decently well, then maybe i can run most games well, which is the intention.

Thank you in advance ♡

Be honest with you even high end pc struggling with game atm , 1500$ maybe you get a pc with 4070 probably can run it ok on 2k with dlss
amd ryzen™ threadripper™ pro 7995wx ,Rtx 5090, CORSAIR, - VENGEANCE RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6400MHz C32 and a samnsung 990 pro 4gb. is my recommendation for over 60 fps.
So far avoid rtx 5000 series, 4000 was pretty good at 4070 and above (4060 has terrible vram for the price), new AMD gpus look really promising, but besides that I would go minimum rx 6700 xt (with your budget you can go quite higher than this). I think you're still going to have to avoid intel even though their new GPU is a pretty good deal, the compatibility and performance in most games is not as good as it could be yet.

Get a ryzen CPU, intel has many issues with their latest CPUs and ryzen is better for gaming anyway. As for the models to go for you're going to have to compare the prices that you can get but you want to get a ryzen 7 since CPU power is in demand these days.
9070 non XT or 5070, whichever you can find. Nvidia 40series was discontinued last year as 40 and 50 series are built in the same node process and 40 had to stop for 50 series volume. You can get a new AM5 CPU and board for a relatively decent price but you really need to budget $1500-2000 if you are in the US and probably about $500 more if outside the states for everything if you want a decent experience for the next 4 or 5 years on the rig. Another $300 on top if you go the prebuilt route
also one thing to note is that ps5 pro which is prolly the stronkest console to date will have a gpu performance of around 7700xt or under 7800xt or close to a 3080 so if you want to run triple a titles, best to aim for 9070 at least tbh

and seems to be console titles also target 8cores so maybe ryzen 7700 is actually good idea but 7500f should really suffice

You have more than enough for a budget.

Start with something like this for orientation

You would just need to add RAM and SSD, 64 GB and NVME Samsung 990 Pro are a must

or

this
https://www.boostboxx.com/gamestar/gamestar-preis-performance-pcs/gamestar-pc-xxxl.html

Those are just for orientation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You may adjust to your needs and your availability.

IMPORTANT

AVOID BUYING A PC WITH PRE-INSTALLED WINDOWS

Get Windows 11 Pro for cheap instead
https://www.softwarehunter.de/windows-10/11-pro/160?number=

Use the links above as baseline, add RAM and proper NVEM, Windows 11 Pro and buy with the rest of the money a proper controller, like a Sony Playstation Dual Sense or Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. If you have larger hands, go for Xbox Controller but accept the driver incompatibilities. If you have smaller hands like me, go for Nintendo Switch Pro Controller which is simply more ergonomic.

The Playstation Dual Sense is a good allrounder, nothing to complain about.

64 GB RAM memory and fast NVEM are must haves. Windows 11 Pro will save your nerves regarding issues from updating etc you can see a lot of forums threads around as it gives you more control.

And usually if you deny a Windows on a PC, you get around 150 - 200 pounds of discount for something you can buy for 15-25. And the "cheap Windows" is legal too - buy the retail version and use a workspace installation for MAXIMUM compatibility with all your devices.

Good luck and Happy Hunting! :mhwgood:

Hi hi! Im paying in pounds and not USD but if i were to convert it, it would be around 1898 dollars. The fact that i live on an island also does not help so things are quite expensive here which is why i am loosely aiming for 1500 pounds and leaving room to spend more.

Thank you for your recommendation though! I will keep it in mind!
5090 ti super 64 gb ddr5 ram the assripper 89000k cpu
takes more watts than all your apliances in you home my power bill is crazy in the red and its cause my wife to leave me ... god i miss her... but hey atleast i can run this game at a crisp 35 fps

Hi hi!
Thanks for the recommendations! I will keep it in mind!
I'd go for an AM5 platform which means it is the motherboard and platform for AMD that should be supported for a few more years of upgrades. That way, you could upgrade in 5 years if you wanted and get a huge generational upgrade compatible with your motherboard and ram which is nice.

A B650 or X670 motherboard with a ryzen 7 7800X3d is an amazing CPU for gaming thats priced well now that the new model is getting a lot more availability (at least in the US).

The RTX 4070Ti on the used market, if the price isn't inflated, is a great card for 2K gaming. I'd still recommend Nvida over AMD overall because of their technology lead with both frame gen and upscaling called DLSS. AMD has this too but it's not as mature. I agree with the people that are recommending the new AMD cards as they look to be a good value. I'd just wait for some good reviews and see.

Get 32GB of ddr5 6000mhz ram or 64gb if your budget affords just to give peace of mind that you won't run into any issues in the next few years. Buy a Samsung 990 PRO 2TB SSD for your initial storage and plan to upgrade more down the road. Having a fast SSD is pretty key to a good gaming experience.

I'd recommend an all in one cooler for cooling your CPU and arctic freeze III AIO 360mm is supposed to be one of the best and it's cheaper than a lot of other ones.

I'd recommend a Lian Li O11 Dynamic Evo case with a few lian li SV 120MM reverse fans for the case (3 or 6).

A good quality PSU will last and many people recommended millions of people through the years to get 600-750 watt power supplies and it's best to get something that will be future proofed because they should last multiple upgrade cycles. I'd say 1000 watt 80 rated gold power supply or even 1200.

It may be a bit expensive given the recommendation of the 4070ti depending on prices used. But the 9070XT would likely keep it within your budget. Remember, the best you can afford is the way to go. You can always upgrade along the way and that's why it's ideal to get a platform that has some life left to it if possible and the AMD AM5 platform is the way to go and I think the 7800x3d really gives amazing gaming performance and is very efficient and pairs well with modern gaming GPUs.
x3d prices are still extremely inflated due to supply shortage do not recommend u get it unless your wallet is pretty padded
Assuming 1500 does not include monitor keyboard mouse etc.

600-700 of budget needs to go to the graphic card card. Good luck getting one at decent price atm. But if your patient and can wait a bit for deals your likely to snag one for a good price once the supply situation gets better in the summer. Also helps you get better deals on the other parts if you can pick up deals as you wait.

Since your not getting a top end GPU with this budget forget spending money on x3d or top end intel. Mid range CPU will not be a bottle neck. I go with any 7700 AMD or better yet a 12700/12600 Intel. Used if you can, to save money. Try to stay under 200 for the CPU and do not get anything with less than 8 cores. 6 Cores are going to be obsolete soon.

Good inexpensive motherboard will run you 150 to 200.
1TB SSD for ~100 or less
DDR6000 32gb for ~100 or less

750 watt PSU for ~100 or less

Get a used or bargan PC case for 50 or less

You may or may not have 50 bucks left for a CPU cooler and some fans at this point.

Hope this helps.

I have a mouse and keyboard that i use with my laptop already so i dont need to purchase any new one of those. Headset is already bought also. Monitor, i will need to buy but i am ok to pay out of my budget for that and i dont need anything too amazing anyways. I'm used to low end functions and always found 30 fps just playable for me :) but i do want to get something that i wont need to upgrade for a long time. Ill keep your recommendations in mind!
Hello everyone! Bit of an update!

We came up with a bunch parts id like to go with but the price is very steep as things are very expensive for me who is on an island and getting things shipped over from overseas.

Ignore the curved screen in the picture provided by the link below. I'll try to find something locally for a desktop screen.

Any help with getting the price down will be amazing!
