Everyone saying Alma is less annoying than the Handler is a damn liar

I, personally, love her and it makes genuine sense why she is there with the Hunter. So, don't blame her because you're too stupid to appreciate it.

world's handler only existing to call me "pard" and monologue but otherwise not existing does not handle her job very well, thats for sure.

I can't get mine to ever pick me up when chasing a monster. Feel like I run faster than it 90% of the time.

I had multiple times alma riding infront of me while i am shooting monster and constant following is annoying as hell.

The people who praise alma did not launch the game once.

Useless mobile quest board, her presence in fight with stupid mount should be toggable.

You can put away palico but atleast it's way less obnoxious than alma and mount ruining hunting experience.

Her being there in general is not what's annoying. It's her getting in the way while trying to shoot while mounted, blocking the view while fishing by going into the water right in front and scaring the fish away, her just not coming out of the tent so you have to enter and re-exit so you can use the quest board at base

alas i cannot relate, i dont use a ranged weapon and shes never been in front of me during combat because of it, same with the other stuff, i dont think ive ever fished by a water line so shes never scared anything away, and if im in a tent im not in immidate need of her: you can choose to start a quest in a tent.

but when out in the world, recently finished a hunt and feel the need to do one thats far away without warping around? you can just stop and talk to her and be there and the quest started.

that alone gives her actual meaning over any other handler, far as im concerned.

Hot take: the Handler was never annoying until they cast her in English. Localizers took a dump on her character. She's adorable in the game's native language.

I wish so dearly Alma would leave us alone to explore the world and fight

She kinda reminded me of Navi from Zelda Ocarina of Time - "Hey, Listen! (...don't go there yet Hunter!)" LUL

World's handler was pretty much ruining every single cutscenes she was in by just opening her mouth (whether it was for eating or talking).
Alma is miles better, sure she's following us around but I barely notice her honestly, doesn't act or speak like an anime character either.

Only thing she did once was pushing me away from an ore node preventing me from looting it.
