I'm at my wits end...any adivce? (constant crashing)
Was hoping someone could give me some advice before I just give up and request a refund from Steam.

I played the heck out of both demos and tested the game with the Benchmark tool and everything was great, but I'm having no such luck with the actual game.

I have an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT and my CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6 Core processor.

I have two major problems. First, the game has trouble launching. Sometimes it'll take 5+ attempts before a window even opens. The steam "Play" button will turn blue and change to "Stop" a few times before the window actually opens. Then once it does launch, it's a coin flip if it crashes when trying to select my save file. When I'm actually able to start a quest, it runs GREAT. Everything is beautiful and the game responds well. But during scenes or when trying to select a quest, the window will randomly close or freeze. I don't get any errors or anything after the crash.

Can anyone give me some advice on what else to try here? I went though the list capcom published already. I'm currently stuck on the scene where I walk to the forest with Alma and discuss what to expect. So I can't start any scenes because it keeps crashing during that scene.

I got stuck on a particular quest (I think Chapter 2 when they started to go underground in the tunnel) and what fixed it for me was actually renaming (or deleting) the crash report exe and .dll

"CrashReport.exe"
"CrashReportDll.dll"

This stopped the random crash reporter from popping up and actually stopped it crashing itself somehow :steamhappy:

Seems like its worth a shot if you're crashing a lot, I'd recommend just renaming and prefixing the files with "old_" or something, so if it doesn't work you can add them back.

An update or verifying files will probably add these back though.

I have the same card as you, but a ryzen 9, sorry to tell ya, but a ryzen 5 will probly always have issues with this game, the fact of the matter is your processor needs to be better, which sucks because you cant just rip out a processor. You're gonna need potato mods probly, even when they fix performance for pc, the last patch mostly fixed my issues. :steamsad:
What are potato mods?
Update your video card drivers. Verify integrity of files in Steam.

CHECK YOUR CPU TEMPERATURES UNDER LOAD.
wish I had any advice. I'm having an issue with crashing too. My PC has a radeon rx 7900 xtx and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. It runs the game fine, but will consistently crash while playing. I've completed the first dozen or so of the steps on Capcoms pinned thread with no luck.

As in mods that lower graphics/performance settings further than the settings allow in game. They just refer to them as potato mods. But id search youtube for potato mods for pc wilds, im betting they have some made by now with everyone having issues.

Your graphics card is more than enough for this game, but ryzen 5 is literally the minimum recommended processor on steam, and that usually means "barely playable" steam recommended specs usually have to be a little better than what they recommend. My other pc has ryzen 5 and i tried wilds on it and same issue, just crashes too much.
If anyone here is using Medal.TV, disable it.
Try running the game in full screen exclusive mode if you aren't
Have the exact build as you, except I can't even get it to boot just crashing on startup.

Drivers up to date. I've verified file integrity. Cpu hasn't gotten hotter than 78.

Isn't Exclusive Fullscreen completely unavailable in this game? Only Borderless and Windowed options.
I'd like to know if there's a way to force it to Exclusive Fullscreen through launch options or config.ini tweaking but can't find how.
ever since the patch came out i've been getting WAY MORE crashes before itd be like 1 crash (4 ish hours per session) now its legit like 1 hour and then it crashes randomly lol
AMD user complaining about stability. Shocker LMFAO
Try disabling "smart memory access" in adrenaline aka "SAM".
