Why Change Decorations?
I've been doing arkveld missions over and over thinking I just wasnt getting crit boost and crit eye decorations, then raelized that wasn't the case at all.

You can no longer slot any gem into any socket, it's armor and weapon specific. Why?

Why limit what builds we can come up with? Not that damage seems to be a huge issue,but im stuck slotting random 1 star decorations into gear just because I don't have anything else to put there (despite having like 10 attack jewels but those are weapon only sorry).

Please someone tell me im stupid and doing it wrong just don't understand the reasoning behind a change like that

It's one of the best changes in the whole game, builds were so washed in Worlds and Rise it was honestly very depressing, only offensive set bonuses and offensive decs mattered.
It all falls off when you make the end game weapons, artisan, they don't come with weapon skills. They have random bonuses. That are not really skills.

attack decos in world were extremely rare at one point. They had something like a 0.6% chance or something like that.

Maybe the deco melder in wilds would help you?
It's their attempt at trying to make secondary weapons useful too. Yet, I don't ever see anyone else but myself using multiple weapons per hunt.

Nope.
Objectively wrong. This restriction ends up doing the very same thing you complain about.
Level 4 decos existed for a reason, and you could easily get defensive decos, like divine blessing on top of your attack decos.

Its one of the worst changes in the game, because so many weapons have skills they want to have, locked to a weapon.

Does a lance, get guard, and guard up? And lose all their damage skills? Or does lance lose its defense skills for more damage? Most builds just go for damage, because focus, guard, guard up, load shells, artillery, mind's eye, are all weapon exclusive.

There's about 20 skills that shouldn't be locked to weapon only.

Nope, this is a new MH Wilds thing. Armor and Weapon have different gems nowday's, wich is a good thing! Dont ever again give me the power to obliberate any foe within 30 or so seconds because i can stack dmg boosts PLUS elemental boosts on armor + weapon. That was a long overdue nerf on Capcom's part.
Awful take and I genuinely hate you and people like you for it. Applauding pointless limitations. It just makes the slots largely pointless. You'll never have as much as you need on your weapons and your armor will always have pointless ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you didn't want at all on it. Awful awful awful ass system I'm so angry I spent money on this game before knowing they did that stupid ♥♥♥♥.
