Seikret controls
How on earth do I set it so I'm in control and not perpetually battling this thing because it's trying to run off somewhere else? I've tried different control settings for it in the options and changing none of them have made a difference. I can bring it to a stop but as soon as I move anything it bolts off towards the marked target.

I just quit riding it because of how frustrating it is.

unmark the target
You have three different buttons to call it. 1) follow the target, 2) manual mode, 3) switch weapon. All of them can set in the keybindings.
unmark the target, you can also just hold the brake button (RT on controller no idea on keyboard)

The two most important settings are "call the seikret in manual mode" and "control the seikret like your hunter". Outside of that, don't use dpad up to call them, that's the autopilot button. Use Dpad down or hold B if you set that option.
RT to bring it to a complete stop does the trick for me. I turned off the seikret auto-explore setting too

Ok, I was failing because I didn't realise there's 3 different buttons to call him. This seems to have fixed my issue.

Thanks for the fast answers.

Watching this now.
Took me forever but I did a google. I'll probably need play to remember now that I'm thinking about it but it's one of the triggers. On keyboard, I'm not sure. Click the left joystick to make it run faster.
And for anyone on keyboard wondering, the button to use is "F". You have to hold it down to call him in manual mode. Tab and Q are the other buttons that seem to call him into auto mode - one of those is probably to switch my weapon but I've not bothered bringing a 2ndary.
