Backup your Savegame

In case you need this information - which I recommend making use of it every meow and then

The default savegame location is

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOURPERSONALSTEAMID\2246340

The cloud savegames can be found here:

If you ever have a crash while loading the game, this is what I recommend to do:

1. Download the savegames from Steam Cloud

2. Disable Steam Cloud Synchronisation

3. Check if the game loads normal -> if yes then pretend nothing happened

4. If your savegame got wiped, use your backup you made before or hope the Steam Cloud savegame you just got is still okay and replace the corrupted savegame

It is easy and safe to make backups. If you get the hint, you will know what else is possible with that method.

praise the sun for this. thank you kindly. lost my previous 5-8 hour sessions because of the dumb cloud sync failure. doing this every time now

Yeah, it really sucks whenever that happens.

I am making mods and know the RE engine from MH:W and MHR - so I have that backing up as part of my update routine plus I make a backup once a day.

If I was lazy I would just setup Dropbox with auto-syncing after every game and keep a versioning ready.

tip #16 - not only just making a savegame backup, but also ensuring that after every update you will not experience file corruption by preventing it through extra checking.

i dont have the personal steam id folder, that i assume is my name ? nothing is there for that just numbered folders and none match the one you posted
