I'm not sure what you are asking. Are you asking to to equip the pods you have in your inventory or how to shoot pods?

Hold LB and tab to the in your inventory then hit x to equip or unequip, if you don't have the autoslinger setting on.

Just hold LT and then pull the RT with your weapon sheathed to shoot the pods.

custom slinger ammo: make it first, bring it with you, select in item wheel like a potion
random ♥♥♥♥ you find lying around: focus mode+button to grab it, its slotted.

to use it: left trigger and fire if you arent using a weapon
if you ARE using a weapon, clicking left stick sometimes allows it, your milage may vary what weapon can do it when.
