Has anyone had any luck getting environment link to work in HR?
So far it just kicks errors to my friends when they try to join which is majorly annoying af.

Works fine. If you are ahead of your friends in the post game story, they can't join. Those are any of the HR locks for main quests, like 15, 20, etc. Join the link of whoever is the furthest behind.

i just hit HR 31 and we had 0 environment link issues.
