MH Wilds Crashing my PC
I'm absolutely loving this game so far... when I can play it. However, it's completely crashing my PC to blackscreen and full restart. I've literally just upgraded my whole setup too, and no other game has caused such issues. GF has the same set-up as me and has no problems, but I'm lucky to get through a hunt without it freezing and resetting my PC.

I think I'm gonna put it down for a bit until they optimise the game, because right now it is, and I hate to use this phrase, literally unplayable as-is.

+++++++++++SOLVED+++++++++++

I solved this by going to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Edit Plan Settings (on whichever one you want to use) > Change advanced power settings > Processor power management > change Min and Max processor state to 99%

Since doing this, I've had no crashes at all and no stuttering either. It seems like it was absolutely a CPU issue, so until they fix it on their side this is a workaround that's let me play the game consistently.

I had something really weird happen to my pc with this game, it's the first time it happened, don't know if it's my hardware or not..

I was playing normally then the GPU suddenly "disconnected" lights on my 3080 are off (but fans still running) no display, pc still running and won't shut off even while pressing the power button I had to entirely cut off power from the PSU, nothing in Event Viewer or any crash dump it makes me anxious what the heck happened ??

I have suspicions it could be the Nvidia OC feature on the new app but I don't know, the boost isn't even that high, I disabled it for now.

Ryzen 9 5900x
RTX 3080
32gb Ram 3600mhz
ASUS TUF Gaming B550 plus
Game on Nvme SSD
90+ Hours in and today this started happening to me, spent the last 3 hours troubleshooting everything I could think of. The moment the game boots, the entire PC restarts. No issues playing other demanding games, its just MH Wilds. I'm currently waiting on a support ticket from Capcom but I won't hold my breath. Very frustrating...

I've contacted their support as well and they've just told me it must be hardware issue on my side and that they cannot help me any further. Considering how many people it is happening to (and with PCs that are having no issues with any other games) I have a very hard time believing every single one of these cases is hardware related. Them not even acknowledging this MIGHT be an issue with their game is not giving me much hope.

What's more likely, a group of people all having the same sneaky hardware problem that only hops out when MHWilds is played and never any other time OR the game itself having an issue?

It seems the tiniest GPU overclock makes this game have heart attacks that not a single other game is even slightly bothered by. If you're even just using the incredibly conservative Nvidia auto tune disable it until they fix the game.

Though I never had my whole PC crash, just the game. If your whole PC is actually freezing or rebooting you have bigger problems.
probably this
especially that last part

either or
seems strange though that most can play without it, i know i can
but this also doesnt seem to be the only game in recent years with the half crashing half not issue
I found a reddit post that fixed my issue of crashing. I downloaded Microsoft.Direct3D.DirectStorage v1.2.3 and replaced the dstorage.dll and dstoragecore.dll in the game folder and my game stopped crashing. Make sure to backup the game .dll files faster to copy paste than to verify game files.
Try download and put the REFramework dll in game directory...never another single crash here with that.

Bro...lets use some common sense here. You JUST SAID your gf has the same setup as you and does not have any problems.
Its OBVIOUSLY not a game performance issue. It is a YOUR PC issue.

Anyone found a solution to this? It's actually really worrying how bad this game has become... They even went out of their way to make an update that crashes the pc now
