Lbg Mains measly weaponchoice
I dont get it why are theire so many lbg focussed on shotgun amo you trade off the nice mobbility weapn to big recoil and slow movement if i want a clunky big gun dealing massive damage i build a heavy bowgun anyone else feeling this i just completed the first story end monster still using the hope3 lbg and rey dau cannon am i missing smth ? xD

I have played both lbg and hbg since World and I can confidently say that Wilds has really pushed both weapons into a very specific direction. I think the only thing I'm really grateful for is the infinite raw ammos (normal/pierce/spread). The amount of things they ruined is staggering. Spread feels like wyvern ammo with the massive recoil. There's no recoil, reload, or spare shot skills which are just huge QoL skills for gunners, Specialty ammo builds aren't nearly as viable as they once were due to the ammo crafting changes coupled with the issue above.

Ultimately I'd say capcom is pushing guns into a new direction because they're unhappy with how we've been have fun. So while some aspects of the series are improving, it seems we're taking a few steps back in the gunning experience in this entry.
All I'll say it LBG has always felt useless to me in every title I've played even back in the PSP days

I've been playing some multiplayer with the HBG and it just feels like it dominates damage wise - even just spamming literally nothing but lvl 3 normal ammo (infinite)

Constant up-time for DPS beyond rolling a few times when you get aggro, and you're permanently in that new wound hitting mode and constantly hitting the things

Boring asf though
