200MB update taking more than an hour to patch? What a way to break the hype!

So, I restarted the game and was welcomed by a 200MB update so I went ahead and started the update. Download was smooth and fast...Until.... Steam shows an estimated patch duration of more than 1 hour. Like seriously???? Is this broken or something??

Mine even changed and now says 2 days. this is beyond stupid

Ancient pc's aren't supposed to be used in 2025.

Amazing how people are quick to say something about somebody else's setup. If you consider a 7700 + 7900 GRE 32GB RAM ancient, then IDK what makes a decent setup for you.

Are you using an NVME drive?

Yes the game is installed on a 1TB NVME drive.

you probably have a dinosaur pc. upgrade to a master race cpu and good ssd it'll be faster.

yeah, it was slow right after the download. stayed at 1% for like 30 seconds and said it was going to take a long time. then finished in less than a minute. *shrug*

It only takes a few minutes. Sounds like the issue is your set-up.
