Light Bowgun Changes
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the LBG changes. I've been playing Light Bowgun since I got into MH a while ago and I believe that world had a good balance of different reasons to play different ammos. I've always been a Sticky/Elemental LBG player for most of my hunting in that game depending on the situation. How do we feel that recoil and reload speeds are fixed to the ammos along with the removal of ways to reduce those times in game sort of shifting us to a pierce/normal setup for people who don't want to build 5 different Bowguns for different elements? Just curious to hear what other LBG players think about it because I personally think it's a bit of a step back to take away other playstyles that were extremely fun and entertaining for other players. Always good to hear a different perspective though.

Damage seems ok, i like the adhesive ammo. My main gripe is the evade/slide sometimes goes completely the wrong direction, often right into a fireball :P
So we're back to Adept Pierce LBG like in MHGU?

... I guess I'm okay with that.

LBG starts slow and you kind of stuck with Normal ammo until you get Congalala. It’s a power spike and you feel piercing ammo doing numbers.
I change to Rry Dau LBG for looks and P3 ammo.
Overall I think it’s really good place. Little boring than prior games but powerful.
I think people may be giving up before getting few must have skills and lack of flashy gameplay.
they got rid of fking fast reload for bow we cant skip animation of putting coatings now ...
no slicing ammo light guns in the entire game is hilarious, and no reload or recoil skills makes the bowguns bad, I'll say it. They are all too similar without the reload and recoil stats.

While I like the way normal / piercing / spread are handled, with infinite ammo and the highest level being the only form you can use, it just feels like they took away reload and recoil BECAUSE of that new system. Which makes the bowguns less customisable, and frankly, ruins spread as there's no way to remove recoil now, even on hbg.

Yeah I just think that it was unreasonable to take out 90% of the customization to force the playerbase into a one side play style. The whole appeal of the Bowguns in the other games was the alternate ammo types and their viabilities. Most people didn't really care about the damage and just played cuz it was fun
Spreadshot LBG is tremendously fun. No idea if it's actually good.
They completely butchered build diversity.
The standardization is cool — makes it easier to figure out what's good for what — but having zero ways to reduce recoil and reload feels pretty bad.
They basically took everything that was broken in World and kinda "soft" removed it from Wilds.

HGB -> slicing/cluster/spread meta? Butchered.
LBG -> slicing/spread/sticky? Might as well remove it.

Most of those metas were already kinda dead in Iceborne, except for sticky and spread, which were basically born there.

Let's just pray they add something in Master Rank... 2-3 years from now lol.

I'll try to brute force a bit of Normal ammo LBG while having a spread HBG on the side, but so far not looking good.

I play primarily HBG, have since the start, but I do have to say that removing all the customisation really makes a lot of ammo types unfun. Couple that with the limited variety of ammo, and it's just why even bother. I don't know if it feels the same for LBG, but it really sucks and makes me sad.
Does light bowgun play more like worlds or like rises LBG?

You can change reloading time with the "Opening Shot" skill/deco. It increases reload time, but it does let you change it lol.
Honestly unless your building into a Pierce or Elemental, HBG and LBG are just not worth it.

Spread is only okay if your mounted.

Normal is Fine but also not at the same time.

Sticky and cluster are not worth it unless your using the respective guns for those which is like 2? maybe 4 guns? i haven't touched slice ammo at all.

HBG and LBG got some neat stuff but that is it. LBG barely having any support ammo types except on a few guns is wild to me cause that was one of the few points i'd take an LBG was the flex on ammo variety and that's kinda gone and now it feels like i have to play around their attachments and farm out the same HR build everyone else uses to get Okay to great TTK's.

They sacrificed too much choice on Bowguns for the sake of overly simplifying the entire kit. It's nice the guns are "easier" to get into but overall it feels awful in comparison to what we had in World/Rise. It does not have to be the same but it should be better functionally if they are going to take away the mods, Decorations and ammo variety from every gun.

It increases reload speed, which I think means you reload faster. If you increase running speed you run faster, so unless the game has really bad clarity it does give you faster reloads.
I feel like they got really scared about spread ammo, the recoil seems disproportionately high when you consider that pierce arguably hits just as hard with almost no recoil. Normal seems only viable with weakness targeting but I think not using your focus attack on weaknesses is a waste in this game, though LBG gets considerably less out of it then most other weapons. It feels way worse than bow and also way harder to aim.

LBG seems like it should have gotten a rewarding perfect dodge mechanic over bow, especially with the mode change dodge shot. This would also add to spread because it seems like it has the longest dodge animation, justifying the insane recoil.

Was never an elemental player cause I hate crafting ammo and just want to play, so I can't speak much on that.

I was surprised they didn't let the Defense Gem "Brace" reduce recoil.
scuffed. fixed recoil/reload just makes most ammos unfun to use and then we have silly things like sliding burst shot spam being ~30% more dps than standard rapid fire
