Herbivore Shells Unobtainable?

The game says I need Herbivore shells. So I go to the male Ceratonoth and kill em, get 3 shells. They don't count... somehow. Okay.

I head out kill 3 more. More shells. Nothing seems to be going to my inventory. Maybe its impossible to get herbivore shells.

I in the first area of the plains with many herbivores there are groups with a single male (big spike on the back) and many females around it. I got one from the male. Not sure about the chance though.

Herbivore Shells are from Low Rank Ceratonoth (Male) if you are on High Rank Map , just do a Low Rank Quest on Plains then you can get it.

I just keep getting herbivore carapace, is that something different? I’m tired of killing these poor dumb things now and I have so much raw meat and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ herbivore carapaces, not a single herbivore shell.

You kill the male not the female and for LR carapace, create low rank optional quest since you can't go back to LR when reached HR.

You need to do low rank for shells, if you've finished the low rank story you'll need to do low rank optional quests. So start the 1 star Chatacabra quest, and go kill herbivores
