Ever since the mini update my game freeze when in combat during mounted, yesterday i played fine without any freeze during mounted but now its a mess
Put "-dx11" in launch settings for MHW
Make MHW launch with admin privileges. 2hrs + in and no crashes. Before it was crashing every 10min now it hasn't. Plus game looks way better.
Finally found out earlier the game was eating up my pagefile, despite 32GB of RAM and 16GB VRAM to play with (I noticed when it suddenly told me there was no space to save). Seems I had enough space at first, but with the bunch of screenshots I took eating into my C drives space and the game taking up to 7GB in the pagefile it'd just shutdown while crediting direct storage. Didn't notice while playing at first, cause it'd release the pagefile after closing.
Copied about 20GB of screenshots from various games to my backup HDD and now I can play with dlc textures and all max, without random crashes.
I'd definitely suggest checking windows event viewer to see if you can narrow down what causes your crashes for you.
Today I made a similar/related observation - the ingame VRAM indicator from the Settings is showing me that the game is using 4Gb VRAM but when I check the Task Manager I see that it is actually using 7+Gb of VRAM (And my GPU is a 4060 Ti 8Gb) so it was pretty much maxing my GPUs VRAM.
Consequently, I lowered some settings further than I was willing to previously (Now I play with all settings on Medium or lower + I manually disabled Volumetric Fog from the config file) and the game genuinely feels more stable and seems to run better.
Considering the Recommended hardware is with 8Gb VRAM, I would expect better performance but I guess not... This honestly leaves me somewhat disappointed as I recently upgraded from a 2060 Super to a 4060 Ti and am now realizing that it is not enough...
Yeah I've been having same issue😕
