DLC- Highest Res Texture Pack causes FPS drops and stutters.
I'm running a 9800X3D with a 5080 before anyone uses the potato analogy :)

You can verify the issue yourself, but it was reported by Digital Foundry. You spin your camera 360 degrees and you will see your frames dip and minor screen stutter.

As soon as I set the Textures to just High, the game runs flawless with everything else maxed out with full Ray Tracing.

Just putting this out there for anyone else who is seeing the frame dips with the DLC-Highest Res Texture Pack. :praisesun:

High Res texture packs always feel like they bloat vram. Despite the 5080's vram there's nothing in Wilds that would ever really require using all of it. Like the higher res pack looks better but in gameplay you're basically never gonna notice.

Without high resolution textures - the game looks like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ :gatorsad::gatorsad::gatorsad:
I have a 4070 ti super and haven't used the high res textures until now and now I'm getting crashes, so there's clearly an issue with them. It's ok because the game is fine without them but I have to wonder how many people are trying to use them and basing their opinion of the whole game on that.
ho res texture pack is a game changer when your running 4k with DLAA- its night and day- only running a r5 5700x with 4080 super- 64gig ram - 70+fps completely maxed

I turned the high res texture pack on my 3080. Switched it back after 3 seconds. I have a 5080 being shipped to me right now and now i'm worried it won't matter lol

go visit an eyedoctor then
5090D user here - Hi Res Pack does cause stutters - I only really notice them a lot when I'm in the Oilwell base camp / furnace place.

Otherwise, that and using the RTX HDR option makes the game look a lot better, IMHO.
Im using 7800x3d and 4080 super, 4k texture is horrendous in oilwell basin and in hub. I went back to High texture after a few mins of playing. Hope they can optimise it since I could tell the difference between 4k and high setting.
With the texture PACK with Full-HD with RT and maxed out settings consume up to 23 GB videomemory.

the difference is quite...small but it's good, it's just absolutely not worth the VRAM increase. alot of the time we look at texture + gfx comparisons in what one might called Photo Mode situations but in actual gameplay you're not going to notice the difference between High + Hi Rez Pack.
