But still:
I have to use my right thumb for the camera on the right joystick
And I have to use my right thumb to attack.
So either I do an attack. Or I move the camera.
Imagine you play Halo or an FPS game, but you can't control shooting and camera at the very same time. It's frustrating.
Mouse and keyboard is simple. Point and click. That's why I want to change it on R1 / R2.
The Thumb aims, the finger attacks.
If the game has no such feature you can try using steam input for the controller. If you open the game and the steam layout you can access it by clicking the controller icon at the buttom and edit the controller layout for the game.
Game Page > View Controller Settings > Edit Layout
But switch buttons only during focus mode I don't think it's possible
@lolschrauber yeah I don't wanna use clawing
I bite the dust and switched to Mouse Keyboard. 15 Minutes later I got used to it. No joke. If you're struggeling with Claw Grip, aiming, etc.
Go and use a mouse and keyboard.
Game is finally funny.
That is one way to do it... I do not think the actual looks can be changed, but for mapping the controller buttons it is fairly easy

I really don't get why controller users often only get fixed presets when mouse and keyboard users can customize everything. The main problem with customizing it via Steam Input is that the UI doesn't reflect the changes, which is especially bad in menus and when you rebind the shoulder buttons and triggers.
So for new players who are not familiar with the controls *at all* have no choice but
- either remember all the time how you mapped your buttons. it becomes confusing if you changed more then 2-3 buttons.
- bite the dust. use claw grip. get a damaged hand after few hours. If you're a gamer from the 2000er and going to 40yo, you will feel it.
- use mouse and keyboard
- and change THERE how you like your inputs
I played elden ring for >1000 hours and DS after that. I am really unsatisfied with the game controls on controller and well... it gets fastly better if you use mkb.
